Quirk: carbon armour

I was a shy and timid girl, one who liked to stay on the sidelines and watched as everyone else had fun chatting away. I'd smile along but rarely contribute to a conversation and I'd attend gatherings but always be a wallflower. I couldn't bare attention - I always felt I was going to say or do something stupid, embarrassing myself in some way.

After the ordeal which was the Summer Camp, we'd all moved into Heights Alliance. A few in the class including Ashido and Kaminari treated it as a sleepover every night whereas Iida and Yaoyorozu saw it as an opportunity to hold many group study sessions. I knew it'd be fun living with the class despite not saying much or doing anything, however there was one person I wish I wasn't living with.

Since the sports festival, my romantic feelings for Katsuki Bakugou grew and grew. I envied him immensely, his capabilities and his determination. He didn't care about how other people saw him, he only cared about becoming the best possible hero, about getting strong enough to save anyone in trouble. The students and crowd at the sports festival saw a rabid angry boy, whereas I saw a determined man desperate to prove his worth.

I tried to keep my feelings for him under wraps, not wanting anyone to find out in fear of attention being drawn my way however I apparently wasn't as subtle as I hoped I was. During the summer camp I felt so useless being hauled up in the classroom whilst everyone was out fighting, and when I found out Bakugou had been captured I was upset. I tried to hide it but couldn't, and everyone was shocked when I volunteered to be part of the rescue team. When we managed to rescue him I couldn't help but ask if he was okay, to which he replied 'Of course I am, don't ask stupid questions,'. It was embarrassing, and I muttered a quick apology before falling behind the group.

Every time I thought back to it I cringed with embarrassment, and now I had to live in the same building as him. The girls had all figured out my feelings, and Ashido wasn't subtle. She hadn't outrightly told anyone, but she had a habit of teasing me whenever Bakugou was in our vicinity. I was terrified that the others in our class were going to catch on to my feelings thanks to Ashido's teasing, but most of all I was scared that Bakugou would. Rejection was inevitable even if I had the confidence to ask him out.

We were one week into living in Heights Alliance, and after the threat of expulsion from Aizawa had been dampening my mood all day every day. I was laid on my bed looking up my uninteresting ceiling when suddenly there was a rustle at the door. I looked up towards it and saw there was a small envelope had been lodged under the door. Furrowing my eyebrows I got up to investigate, picking it up cautiously. I opened my door and looked down the corridor to see if I could see the sender, but all I saw was the lift doors close without giving me enough time to see the occupant.

I opened the envelope carefully and picked out the contents, and to my surprise it was a keychain of my favourite character from my favourite anime. I was both happy and confused, wondering who had dropped it off and why, but the keychain was adorable and I couldn't help but smile. That was when my phone buzzed and I looked to see I had a text from Ashido, begging me to come down to the common room where she and Kaminari had undoubtedly gotten the class together for a night of fun and games.

Happily I clipped my new keychain to one of the belt loops on my shorts, heading down to the common room and instead of verbally greeting everyone I gave them a silent nod. "Great, (l/n)'s here too! Who's left... Bakugou!" Ashido said, turning towards Kirishima. "Go get him! We can't have a full class game-night without him!"

"Don't expect too much Ashido," Kirishima said. I headed straight over to an empty sofa, snuggling up against the arm and pulling my phone from my pocket but Hagakure soon snatched it from me.
