one week later
Jacob.

"Ashton- tell her to let me." I spoke, seeing my sister roll her eyes immediately as we argued about her letting me go back to school.

"I don't see why not, if you think you're ready- then you should-" "Jacob, maybe you should just try online school this semester and then next semester we will-" I cut her off with a loud groan.

"What? So I can sit at home and be sad all damn day like you?" I immediately regretted what I said as soon as it came out my mouth and I could tell Ashton didn't like what I said either.

"First of all, language." Ava reprimanded my cuss word, not focusing to anything else.

"Second of all, I'm just nervous about how you're going to take sympathy from other people- you're going to get a lot of it." She finished slowly.

"I'll be fine." I told her, looking to Ashton as I did,

"Tell her how good I've been doing- I've been taking my medicines, talking about everything-" "he has been doing exponentially well." Ashton told her, making her exhale,

"Okay." She gave in.

I celebrated silently

Less time I have to spend in that house.

Ava.

We did our private meetings after we got Jacob and I's argument over school out of the way.

I sat with Michael, hearing him hum as he focused to his computer.

"What's your field?" I asked him, seeing him glance to me.

"Someone's talkative today." He spoke before turning his full attention to me.

"But orthopedics, so bones basically, I'm also a chiropractor." He spoke slowly.

"Fun" i answered swiftly, seeing him smile.

"What are you in college for?" He asked me.

"Communications with a minor in public relations." I told him, seeing him nod.

"Have any plans of what you're going to do with that?" he asked me.

"No clue of anything, actually." I managed to laugh out.

"That's okay." He spoke simply, making me look to him.

" I didn't have my shit figured out until halfway through college, you're still really young, take your time," he spoke.

"I'm trying"

My meeting with Ashton went fast.

He prescribed me a stronger sleeping medicine- the one he had given me did nothing but make me nauseated.

"Your brother is doing great." He told me as we wrapped things up.

That was so relieving.

"But I am still worried about you- you're moving at a slower pace than him." He spoke firmly, making me exhale.

"I'm fine, Ashton"
