Faye's lungs were dry and her feet hurt everywhere.

She keep changing directions and hoping to find a magical way out of the tunnels.

The mountain had no maps for them and she had no weapons if she ran into a Reaper.

She couldn't think about that. She had to keep running or someone might find her.

The mountain men chased her deep into the tunnels and Faye was left with no light. Following her hand against the wall she tried her best to be small and quiet.

Every few steps she would trip over a rock or one of the tracks. Although she couldn't see them, she knew her feet were bloody.

At the end of a narrow corridor was a white light. Faye had spent days running from any light she saw. Fearing it may be Reapers or Mountain Men.

This light however wasn't escorted by noise and footsteps.

Faye was blinded as she walked closer. She knew her eyesight might be terrible after three days in the dark.

Faye found an opening in the dark corridor that led to a green hill. Nothing but trees and clear sky.

Faye didn't wait to check for danger. She took off running down the hill faster than she had run through the tunnels.

She only stopped when she came across a creek. There's was a deer on the other side who stopped drinking when he saw her.

Faye scooped water into her hands and drank the cold water. If it was safe enough for the deer it should be good for her.

Faye didn't stop drinking until the dry sting in her throat had subsided. Next she soaked her feet. She grabbed a fistful of dirt to help ignore the sting.

She watched the dark blood wash away. How precious it was but so easily lost. Every drop reminded her of who she was.

A silver blade touched down onto Faye's neck and she followed the cold steel to see a face.

"Who are you?" He demanded.

Faye slowly raised her hands. "Ai laik Fae kom Trikru."

"Faye?"

Faye watched him lower his sword and look at her with wide eyes. She looked harder and thought she recognized him, but she couldn't be sure.

"It's me, Lincoln." He said. "What happened to you? Where have you been?"

"Lincoln?" Faye asked. It was hard to imagine the little boy with big eyes and a missing tooth as the warrior who was standing before her now. "You're..."

"Grown." Lincoln said, finishing her statement for her. "You've missed a lot." He told her.

"I'm sure."

In the distance loud bangs were sounded and Faye flinched at the loud noises. Lincoln watched in a certain direction, as if he was looking for something.

"We should go. It's not safe to be out in the open like this."

He led her to a cave deep in the woods and far away from the mountain.

When they were hidden away, covered by rocks and darkness, Lincoln lit candles the offer light. He walked over with a bowl of water and started cleaning Faye's wounds.

Faye winced at the sting of the water against the wounds on her face.

"How long we're you there?" Lincoln asked.

"It's hard to tell. There's no outside light, no fresh air." Faye recalled the room filled with sweating bodies that tried everything to escape.

"How did you escape?" Lincoln asked.

"A woman. She pulled me out, not expecting me to escape. I found a way out through the Reaper tunnels under the mountain." Faye said.

"Just wait till Anya hears you're out. She'll want to send you to the Capitol..."

"No. She can't know. No one can. Lincoln, if I go to the Capitol and they find out...Have you not told anyone?" Faye asked.

"You asked me not to. I would not risk your wrath or secret." Lincoln pulled away. "Someone will find out that you are here." He said. He pulled up his hood and started to leave the cave.

"Where are you going?" Faye asked.

"Somewhere." Lincoln said, he looked between her and the exit.

"Where?" Faye pressed on.

"You've missed a lot." Lincoln said.

"Apparently. Is it someone?" Faye asked.

"Wait here." He told her.

"Why?"

"You haven't changed at all." Lincoln rolled his eyes waiting for Faye to back down.

"Nope. Who is it?" Faye gasped at her own thought. "A girl?" She asked.

"I'm going to kill you." Lincoln said.

"We both know you wouldn't kill me." Faye said. She leaned back against the stone wall and gave a small smirk.

"Try me."

"You're right, I haven't changed. I can still beat you in any fight. So, don't try me." Faye said. "Do I know her?"

"No."

"Can I meet her?"

"No."
