You Make that Look Good

at the diner

Grandma chuckled and said, "that's true but alright, look and see what you want so that when the waitress comes back you'll be ready."

I skimmed over the menu and said "alright I'm ready." As I said that an older lady came to us and said "I'm Aubree and I'll be your waitress for the evening."

I smiled at her and said "alright, I'll have the Chicken sandwich, a loaded baked potato with onion rings, and a sprite. Grandma, what would you like?" She said ordered some fries and a fully dressed hamburger and lemon water" Aubree said "alright I've got it, I'll be right back with your drinks." "Oh miss can I get an application please" she smiled at me and nodded.

Grandma looked at me and said "Juliette I'll be back I'm gonna go to the bathroom." I nodded and said "okay grandma I'll be right here."

She got up and walked away. That's when our eyes met and I found myself smiling at him.

He smiled back and winked at me. I started to blush. I then looked  behind me to make sure there wasn't anyone else he could be winking at.

And "nope not a soul," I said to myself.

I looked back towards him and he looked at his friends and said something and pointed towards where I was sitting. He pushed his chair back and got up from the table and walked towards me.

I widened my eyes and blushed as he sat down. He looked at me and said "hey there cutie, I couldn't help but notice a new face in town. I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Scotty, and you are?"

I blushed smiled and said, "I'm Juliette, nice to meet you, Scotty."

Scotty looked down and said "so are you moving here or just visiting someone?"

I kinda laughed and said, " I'm visiting my grandmother for the summer, why?" He smiles and says "no reason I was just wondering it's not everyday we get a beautiful young face around."

I smile and instantly feel my cheeks heat up, and said "well thanks maybe I'll see you around" he smiled and said "well I know I just met you but here's my number if you'd like a tour of the town" and he laughed.

I looked up and saw my grandma coming back then I said "that's my grandmother there" and I pointed towards her.

Scotty turned and looked and whispered "oh my gosh no way" I looked at him confused, I said "what?" He smiled and stood up and said "oh um nothing well I'm gonna let you have a nice dinner with your grandma I'll see you around Juliette" and he winked at me.

Grandma came and sat back down and said "sorry I was waiting for a stall" as she sat down our food was brought to our table and smiled "oh this looks so good" I smiled and said agreed"

We finished eating and I gave the our waitress my application and I looked up and saw that Scotty had already left and I kinda felt a little sad.

We walked to the car and we put on our seat belts and pulled out grandma said "well that was a nice dinner." I smiled and pulled out of the diner.

After about 10 minutes we pulled into grandma's driveway and I parked the car and got out and grabbed my bag. I walked to the porch and waited for grandma to come to unlock the door.

I said "thank you grandma I think I'm gonna turn in for the night, I love you night" I went up the stairs towards my room. And my grandma said "I love you too sweetie."
