Rosemary hadn't been on a formal date in at least two years, and the last one was disappointing at best. That only made her date with Luke feel all the more special; he drove her to a restaurant, linking his arm with hers as he lead her inside and approached the front desk.
"Reservation for Hemmings." He announced after greeting the person behind the desk, and Rosemary quirked an eyebrow up at him... She hadn't heard his last name before.

"Luke Hemmings." She said with a smile as the waiter led them to their table; Luke looked down at her curiously, letting out a quiet 'hm?'... "I like that." He couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle at her words; he hadn't thought about the fact that they hadn't mentioned surnames to one another before.

When they got to their table, conversation quickly ensued. For one, Luke found out that Rosemarys last name was Morgan - middle name Lynette - which made him realise that was probably why it was so hard for Calum to originally find her... In his mind, he'd been thinking of her as Rosemary Laveau. Of course, a lot can happen to a family name in the span of 50 odd years.

Rosemary was excited when Luke ordered them a bottle of fancy wine, and happy when the food arrived; their conversation carried on, jumping from topic to topic, smiling, laughing, gasping in shock all the while - they had dozens of story to tell - some to keep to themselves - and not enough time.
A conversation about music developed into a conversation about dance, where Rosemary admitted that she used to regularly attend dance classes - even ending up in a dance group that would attend competitions occasionally.

"Really?" Luke raised his eyebrows, surprised by the new information.

"Yes, really. I was super committed and competitive, and we'd do all sorts of crazy tricks and stuff. It wasn't just dance, it was like acrobatics and everything. We were actually pretty good." She pouted, jokingly flipping her hair over her shoulder.

"Why'd you stop?" Luke asked, a soft and curious smile on his face.

"Well, we were doing this routine where I had to jump and this one guy had to catch me midair, but he fucked it up." She rolled her eyes with a subtle scowl at the memory. "He basically dropped me and made me land funny on my ankle. It fractured and I was so pissed because then I couldn't wear any cute boots for weeks."

"Wait, that's the part you were concerned about? Your shoes?" Luke couldn't help but snigger, seeing her hold back her own amusement.

"What? Style is important to me." She giggled. "If it was my wrist or something, it'd be fine! Either way, though, I stopped because our big competition was coming up and there I was with a fucked ankle. So I couldn't join in on something we'd planned for months, because I got dropped, so I just... didn't go back." She shrugged, absentminded moving the food around on her plate with her fork.

"I see... Hey, fuck that guy for dropping you." Luke scorned, watching Rosemary giggle again and cross her arms over her chest, leaning slightly towards him.

"I couldn't agree more." She laughed, glancing him up and down for a moment. "You think you'd catch me, though?" Luke's head cocked, intrigued by the amused proposition.

"One hundred percent, I would." He nodded cockily, watching her raise a single eyebrow and lift her wine glass to her lips.

"We'll have to test that theory, then." She smirked, taking a sip of wine. "I better not end up with a fractured ankle again, though. I don't even have any flat shoes." Luke chuckled at the thought.

"You wouldn't need any." He assured. "I'd definitely catch you."

As the meal ended, Luke casually invited Rosemary over to his place - she tried to hide the excitement on her face, calmly agreeing to the invitation and allowing him to lead her into his car again, feeling the heat rise in her skin when his hand found her thigh again.
