Monster. Nightmare. These words echo in my mind as he approaches our car. From the secret compartment I take out my German silver pistol and take aim at his chest. The shot rings out in the dead silence of the night. Zoya screams loudly and faints. I shoot four more shots at him and he falls. Our bodyguard Romero comes running from the house followed by the police officers who I called earlier they take the body away and our statements. Then we enter the house. Mrs Porter greets us and we eat a silent meal. Zoya has recovered from her faint but she looks pale. After dinner I take her in my arms and carry her to our bedroom, I lay her down gently on the bed. She grabs my hand when I turn to leave. So I move the covers and get in beside her on the bed.
