Two girls leapt to attention as the smallest boy collapsed. One had black hair and looked maybe seventeen, and the other had golden eyes and was about thirteen. The black-haired one inserted a square of something in his mouth. Maybe lemon bars?
The other clutched his hand and murmured, "Nico? Are you OK?"
His eyes fluttered open. They were startlingly black and glazed over.
"I'm fine," Nico muttered. He sat up, rubbing his head and blinking. "Thanks, Hazel."
The golden-eyed girl replied, "It's nothing. What happened?"
He flashed her a look that clearly said, Not now.
Another boy came up. He looked a lot like Harry, black hair and green eyes.
"So," he said. "I'm Percy. Are you the wizards?"
Uh-oh.
