The soldiers had tried to follow them from the sky route. They were even followed by Shrutsen through land but they somehow managed to loose all of them behind.

Piercing the night sky, following the direction Khyati had read in those documents in the library, their eyes searched down the vast land covered with Metal sand. Somewhere in the middle of that vast piece of land.........stood one of the two portals to reach the Realm of Underworld. The other one was in Kushdweep.

After sometime, the pitch black darkness below them, started giving a little shimmer, indicating the presence of sand of all different metals from the underworld. They lowered there horses a little in the air.

Somewhere from far, Mrityunjay could feel a source of ancient energies. Something out there was leaving powerful vibrations in the environment and making the particles to vibrate vigorously, just the way the astras he use do.

As the distance began reducing, a reddish glow was very much becoming prominent at the other end. And soon, they were standing in front of the gate that lead to the other realm.

It was surrounded by the powerful aura of underworld. It had a suction pull, it was pulling them towards itself but the pull was not powerful enough.

Taking the initiative, Umika went towards the door and before they could even react, she passed the thin glass of red aura and came to the other side of it. She again did the same and came back to their side.

'Kya yhi Patal ka dwar hai?' (Is this only the Portal to underworld?) she asked all of them with a frown.

'Lgta toh yhi hai.' (Seems so) Mrityunjay replied while reading the cravings in the Portal. The names of the sub-realms of underworld- Atal, Vital, Sutal,Talatal, Mahatal, Rasatal and finally the original Patal- were craved on it.

'Toh ye kaam kyu nhi kr raha hai?' (Then why is it not working?)  she questioned staring at the portal.

They all started thinking for the possible reason. After some moments, Mrityunjay thought of a reason and was about to say it, when a howl interrupted him and grabbed their attention.

Hair on Umika's back stood up and chills ran down her spine............as she felt the presence negative energies.

They all looked here and there as the environment of the place suddenly felt very negative and different.

Khyati and Umika stuck to Mheem who himself was terrified on sudden appearance of what seemed like spirits to them and moved as close as possible to Mrityunjay.

Some were flying, some were walking towards but all were nearing them, inducing fear..........so much fear. The three of them had demonic origins but these souls were not the normal ones.........they were the typical evil spirits of cruel people and some of them were not someone's ghost but just negative energies. But all were too powerful.

Mrityunjay could feel Umika's trembling hands on holding his forearm and could also feel Khyati and Mheem beside him as he studied all these spirits with the emotion most least expected from a normal person if stuck in this situation. And that was of pity.

Unconsciously, Mrityunjay gently freed his arm from Umika's hold and slid his arm round her waist, holding her to his side securely. Umika, in utter daze, stared at him with confusion as he still kept staring at the spirits who were nearing slowly.

She watched as he lifted his other hand up in the air above his head lazily and with a flash of light something appeared in his hand. A dumroo, the small two headed drum, appeared in his hand.
