"Emma," Matt called out as he walked down the stairs, he found her on the couch, "I told you that you didn't have to sleep on the couch."

Emma rubbed her eyes and straightened her hair, "Believe it or not, I actually didn't mean to do that."

A knock on the door grabbed both of their attentions, but it was Matt who answered it, "Stefan?"

Emma looked over Matt's shoulder and at Stefan, who looked worried, "Hey guys. So Emma, we have to talk."

"I don't know if that's a good idea Stefan," Emma shook her head.

"If nothing else, we need to have a conversation about what we are going to tell Damon," Stefan argued.

Emma shook her head again, "It's a double edged sword. If we tell him the truth, he won't stop until he figures out how to fix it, if he thinks we are hiding something from him then he will pull down every wall trying to find out what it is; and that's assuming he believes us either way."

Stefan's phone began to ring, he looked at it confused before answering, "What is it Damon?"

After a brief conversation Stefan suddenly had a look of panic on his face when he hung up, "We got to go."

"We?" Emma raised her eyebrow.

"Is everything okay?" Matt asked.

Stefan looked uncertain, "I hope so."

"Give me a minute to change," Emma turned back into the house and grabbed some cloths out of her bag before going to the bathroom to change.

She ran her hands through her hair to pull out the tangles before joining Stefan on Matt's porch.

"Keep me up to date," Matt said as they got in the car.

Emma nodded to him as she got into Stefan Porsche. Stefan sped as they made their way to the Gilbert's house. Without bothering to knock they both entered the house.

"Hey," Stefan looked at Elena nervously.

"PS I called Stefan," Damon smirked at Elena before turning to Emma, "but I don't remember calling for a parrot."

Emma tried to ignore his comment, but then spotted Jeremy, dead on the couch, stabbed by Elena.

"Oh my god," she stepped over to him.

"What happened?" Stefan motioned towards Jeremy.

Elena put her hands up, "I just-I need to go upstairs and shower, clean the blood off my hands."

Emma put her hands over Jeremy's heart and concentrated, she felt it pump once, twice, and then it started like normal. Jeremy sat up with a gasp.

"Thanks for speeding that up," Jeremy looked at Emma gratefully.

Emma shrugged and stood up.

"Welcome back to the land of the living," Stefan crossed his arms.

"What happened?" Jeremy asked, looking to anyone for an answer.

Damon ran a hand through his hair, "Long story, buy the e-book."

Stefan headed up stairs to speak with Elena, Emma couldn't make out what was being said but she could tell they were arguing. She stood up and walked into the kitchen, she started reaching into cabinets, grabbing cleaner and paper towels.

"How have you been around long enough to know where everything is, but not long enough for me to know you?" Damon asked as he watched her.

"I grew up here," Emma said semi-honestly, "just moved back not too long ago."
