"I'm sure Tyler would be thrilled to know that Matt turned his place into party central," Emma laughed as they pulled into the long driveway of the Lockwood mansion.

"To be fair I think this is Caroline's party," Damon smiled at her, barely holding back his excitement for her surprise.

Damon parked and then sped around the car to open the door for Emma. They held hands as they walked up the porch and into the main room of the mansion. Someone in a tux passed by them.

"I think we missed the part on the invite that said black tie," Emma frowned.

Caroline appeared in front of Emma with an excited look on her face, "I got you covered."

"Caroline, what the heck is this?" Emma put one hand on her hip.

"You missed prom," Caroline explained, "so I ordered a re-do."

"Seriously?" Emma huffed.

"Yup, come on," Caroline grabbed Emma's hand and pulled her away from Damon and upstairs to a room where she had everything she needed to get Emma ready for her big prom debut.

Caroline sat Emma down in a chair and immediately began fidgeting with her long hair, pulling and braiding each part before carefully pinning it exactly where she wanted it. As soon as Caroline was content with Emma's hair she began digging into her bag of make-up. She chose colors that would bring out the brightness in Emma's amber eyes while complementing her dress at the same time.

"You didn't have to do this Care," Emma smiled at her friend.

"Surprisingly, this was Damon's idea," Caroline admitted, "I just put in the request to make everyone dress up."

Emma looked at Caroline surprised, "Wow."

"You're good for him Em, he was a real ass before you showed up."

"Yeah, I think I got a glimpse of that," Emma sighed.

Caroline didn't comment, instead she put the finishing touches on Emma's make-up and moved over to the closet where she had a long dress waiting. It was a black a-line gown with off the shoulder sleeves. A layer of tulle had glitter embedded in it to make the dress look like it was sparkling with each movement.

"Caroline Forbes is letting me wear a black dress?" Emma crossed her arms, very suspicious.

"I figured Silas tortured you enough, I should let up for a bit," Caroline teased.

Emma rolled her eyes as she let Caroline help her into the dress. Emma looked at herself in the mirror and held back a gasp, she felt beautiful for the first time in a long time.

"Here," Caroline handed Emma a boutonniere.

"You really went all out, didn't you," Emma laughed as she turned the dark red rose around in her hand.

Caroline smiled coyly and shrugged before she opened the door and led Emma out into the hallway and towards the spiral staircase. She ushered Emma ahead of her and silently hung back as she watched her best friend walk gracefully down the stairs.

As soon as Emma saw Damon waiting for her at the bottom of the staircase she couldn't help but smile giddily, her eyes brightened the seconded they met his. The last time Emma saw Damon in a tuxedo, he wasn't himself. This time, as she reached for his hand, she knew he was all hers.

Damon's smile mirrored hers, "Hello beautiful."

Emma failed at hiding the blush that was flushing her face, "Hi."

Damon gently took her hand and slipped a red rose corsage onto her wrist, baby's breath was carefully placed on each side to accent it. Emma quickly pinned the boutonniere on his jacket lapel before taking both of his hands in hers.
