Chapter 10

Sensei opens a beer, as they all stood in a junkyard unknown as to why we are here

"You've trained hard. You've gotten stronger, tougher, faster. You've done your best. You're ready for this tournament, am I right?" Sensei hypes up

"Yes, Sensei!" We answer

"Wrong! Your best ain't shit! If you want to win the All-Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament, you gotta give me better than your best. Which is why from now on, you're gonna get my worst. You understand?" Sensei asks

"Yes, Sensei!" We reply

"Are you losers?" Sensei asks

"No, Sensei!"

"Are you nerds?" Sensei questions

"No, Sensei!"

"Are you sure?" Sensei inquires

"No, Sensei!" Sensei sighs.

We start running through tires, everyone right behind each other

"Move those feet, go, go, go!" Sensei commands.

Then given weapons, we get to hit and destroy stuff, which is going to be fun

"Your enemies are all around you. Destroy them!" Sensei exclaims, we start hitting and breaking things around us in the junkyard.

Going through more tires, then walking over a plank filled with metal parts.

"Come on Lucky Charm, make your way over," Sensei says, reminding her of Robby, who she was seeing later. He called her that all the time. Destructing more things.

Then tripping on the tires, over Aisha who fell first. Then we all stood back where we were before.

"You want to win, you gotta be hungry. You guys hungry?" Sensei asks, getting given beef jerky.

"Yes, Sensei!" We answer as Clover's stomach rumbles.

"Good. So are they." Sensei says, blowing a dog whistle, and hearing dogs barking in the distance.

"Oh, shit!" Aisha says, as the dogs came into view, everyone ran. Except for Clover

"Don't be afraid! They smell fear!" Sensei says.

Clover stayed behind as the dogs arrived, no fear evident,

"Aw puppies" She exclaims, one letting her pat it, feeding it the jerky, as she got crowded with the dogs

"Sensei, do you have any more jerky?" She asks, Sensei turns to her, smiling and handing her the packet, giving them things left over to them. Sensei smiled at the bubbly girl.'

After practice, you meet up with Robby at the ice- cream parlour.

"I've been looking forward to this," she tells him, walking into the parlour.

"What seeing me or getting ice- cream," Robby asks, smiling

"Definitely the ice- cream" Clover jokes, he smiles wider

"Only kidding, I couldn't wait to see you," she tells him

"Same here, Lucky Charm," Robby says, they make it to the front and order their ice- cream then head out to skateboard at the skate park, she was a bit better, she could at least stand on the board now without falling off as well as riding on it as for tricks not yet.

They make it to the skate park just finishing their ice- creams then start skating around. Robby was showing off again, but Clover kept making fun of him

"Robby you're such a show off" Clover teases him.

"No need to be jealous sweetheart" He joked, both of them laughing

"Okay, Mr Keene," she says in a funny way. They were really enjoying your time together.

After that she left to go to her chemotherapy appointment, she actually hoped this was working, so she could be cancer free. Clover sat patiently waiting to be called up and got it done and started to head home

The next day Clover headed off to the movies with Miguel, Aisha and Hawk

"Hey, what's wrong?" Clover asks Miguel, as they were sitting in the theatre. Hawk was throwing food at the girls a few rows in front

"I can't stop thinking about what Sensei told me about Sam's dad," Miguel says

"So Sensei and Sam's dad had some beef. What does that have to do with you?" Aisha asks, Hawk is still throwing the food. I'll laugh if it hits someone else

"Do I have to spell it out for you? Sam's dad hates Cobra Kai, I'm a part of Cobra Kai. So by the transitive property, Sam's dad is gonna hate me." Miguel explains

"Jesus Christ, you're such a nerd," Hawk says

"Do I tell them about how nerdy your bedroom was?" I tease, he glares.

"I'm telling you, it's not just on my mind. Sam was acting weird the other day when her dad walked by." Miguel told us

"Mm, listen, I've known Mr LaRusso since third grade. He's a really nice guy, you just have to talk to him." Aisha assures

"I haven't even been invited over yet. She's probably too afraid to introduce me." Miguel sighs

"Dude, just go over there. It's an alpha move." Hawk suggests, throwing another piece of food

"Who the hell did that?" A man asks, standing up. Hawk shrunk his seat, eating his popcorn. I cover my mouth, trying not to laugh.

Later that night I was sitting in my room, doing a small bit of studying when I hear a few knocks on the door

"Come in," I say, as the door slowly opened

"Do you mind having a visitor?" Mum asks, you nod your head and see a very sad-looking Miguel

"Aw Miggy," I say, pulling him close for a hug and comforting him

"Come on, you're staying over and we can take over this," You tell him, he nods his head as you try to cheer up the Hispanic boy.
