Raven's POV

As Sashi and I walked home, I gradually got more and more upset with Sashi. Yes, they were just trying to stick up for me, but now everyone thinks I'm a weak little coward who needs his little sister to stand up for him, which I'm not.

"You're mad at me, aren't you?" Sashi asked, as if he could read my mind. I sighed. "I- I mean...sort of." I bit my lip. Sashi exhaled. "Why?" She asked. I stopped walking, making them stop too.

"Why? Why am I mad?" I scoffed. "Because, Sashi, you made a fool out of me! Now, everyone thinks I'm some sore looser who needs his little sibling to help him with his fights! You've made me out to be a weak coward!" I said.

I continued to walk, going past Sashi, who quickly followed behind me.

"I was just trying to help you, Ray! Really, I mean it! I wasn't trying to make you seem weak!" She said, sounding guilty. We walked up the driveway towards our house.

"I don't care, Sashi," I said opening the front door. "I'm gonna be a fucking laughingstock now!"

I walked through the house, spotting my mother who had about an hour off before she went to her second job of the day.

"Woah, when did you start using that type of language?" She asked. "And whats going on? Why are you yelling at your sister?"

"These three assholes we're picking at Raven, who wasn't sticking up for himself, so I stepped in! I kicked one of 'em where it hurts, and punched the other one in the face. I didn't get to the other before the principal showed up. He tired calling you but you weren't answering so he gave me a note to give you." Sashi said, handing our mom the note.

"So why are you being yelled at by your brother?" Mom asked.

I scoffed.

"Because, mom," I said. "Now the whole damn school thinks I'm some weak looser who needs my fourteen year old sister to help me with my battles! I was perfectly fine on my own, by the way. I could have handled them on my own, but now I'm gonna get picked at even more!" I shouted.

Mom stared at me blankly for a moment.

"Picked at...more?" She questioned.

I sighed.

"Agh, you wouldn't understand why anyways." I rolled my eyes, leaving to mine and Sashi's bedroom. I didn't dare tell my mother that I get bullied for being gay. I have no idea if she's supportive or not, and I'm afraid to ask.

"W-Wait, Raven! You can talk to me! I'm your mother!" She called after me. I went into my room and closed the door.

I grabbed my bag that held my skating outfit, and went back out if the room. I headed to the front door and grabbed my skates.

"Where're you going?" Mom asked worryingly. "The rink. Gonna clear my head." I said. "Is the rink even open on Wednesdays?" Sashi asked. I shrugged. "Guess there's only one way to find out."

Faro's POV
a while before

After I got off of the plane, was recognized by a few people and had my photo taken with them, I headed off to the rink where the video was filmed. I wanted to see how it looked, and maybe be as lucky for that boy to be there.

When I walked in there was a lady at the front desk. Maybe in her late forties or early fifties?

She looked up at me and smiled, taking off her reading glasses.

"Hello there, can I-" She paused for a moment. "-help you..?" She finished. "Hi." I smiled and lightly waved. She gasped. "Oh my word! You're- are you- like-" She cut herself off.

"Faro Carson? Yeah." I said. She seemed lost from words. I giggled. "You alright?" I asked. She nodded. "Fantastic! What- What exactly are you doing here?" She asked.

"Saw a video on TikTok of some boy that was skating here." I said. She paused. "You...You saw that video too?" She asked. I nodded. "And why did you decide to come here because of it?"

I shrugged.

"I saw potential in that boy. Wondering if he'd let me coach him." I said.

Her jaw dropped.

"Oh my, he really looks up to you. He'll faint when he finds out." She laughed under her breath. "When does he come in?" I asked. "On weekends. Feel free to look around though!" She smiled. "Thanks!"

"You're all alone by the way. Nobody every comes in on Wednesdays. The rink is that way."

I nodded and walked through the doors that she pointed to, and looked around. I stepped into the locker room. It was small, and could only hood about ten people. When I went into the actual rink, I was fascinated.

It wasn't big at all, but it wasn't small either. I was surprised by how well-kept it was. The ice was absolutely perfect, the walls were a very clean white with baby blue panels here and there, and the floor was a pretty dark brown.

There were also pretty potted plants and small trees everywhere, obviously fake because of the cold temperatures though.

It was really cute looking.

I walked around for a while before heard some noises coming from the locker room. I tilted my head that way and listened. Heavy footsteps and shaky breaths is what I heard. I got a bit nervous, but decided to go check it out.

Maybe someone was hurt and needed help.
