Raven's POV
A long time passed. Faro's mom did officially kick him out. The two of us went to London to collect all of his things. His mom just sat there with a grim look on her face the whole time, not talking. I flipped her off right before we left.
We got Faro citizenship, and the two of us got our own house together with money that we earned from competing. We also got mom, dad, and Sashi plenty of money to get them a nicer house too.
We graduated, and now had all the time in the world to skate and live our dreams.
Now, I am eighteen, and Faro is nineteen. Sounds a bit young to own our own house and everything, but we are legal adults.
The two of us went on a trip. One of Faro's skating buddies rented out a huge rink for a whole day, and invited every skater he knew, which may I remind you is a lot of people, so we could all have some big 'skating family reunion' as he called it.
When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by many people.
Hours passed. I noticed that every once in a while, Faro would look over near the middle of the ice like he was waiting for something.
It was getting dark outside. Golden hour, to be exact. The pretty, gold, setting sun shined through the windows.
Faro looked over at the middle of the ice. It was completely clear. He grabbed my hand and pulled me over to the side, next to the guy that had rented the place. He whispered in his ear, handing the guy his phone. The guy gasped, smiling. Faro shushed him and said something else.
"What're you doing?" I laughed. His face turned slightly red. "Come with me." He said. He gently held my hands and pulled us to the middle of the ice. I saw the guy holding the phone up like he was filming us.
A few seconds later, the loud music playing stopped.
"Look at the middle of the ice!" The guy filming yelled. Everyone's heads looked our way.
"Faro, what're you doing?" I asked in a hushed voice. "R-Raven, for the past few years, I have loved you more than anyone ever. You make me so happy, and I never want that to end." He said. "Aw, Faro, you're so sweet." I stuck out my bottom lip.
"Raven, would you do the honors..." He reached into his back pocket, pulling out a small black box, and getting down on one knee. I gasped. "Would you do the honors of making me the happiest man alive, and marrying me?" He asked.
I covered my mouth with both of my hands, tears welling in my eyes as I nodded.
"Yes! Oh my god, yes!" I squealed, dropping to my knees in front of him. I grabbed the collar of his shirt, pulling him into a kiss.
"Woo!" People cheered and clapped. Happy tears leaked from my eyes.
"I love you, I love you, I love you!" I hugged him. My knees slightly hurt from dropping onto the hard ice.
Faro took the ring from the box and slid it onto my finger.
"Oh, thank goodness it fits." He laughed through his own tears. "I was so worried it wouldn't. Then again, I've spent enough time holding your hands, I should know how big they are." He grinned. I shook my head, smiling.
Faro held a thumbs-up to they guy filming, and he put the phone down.
"Oh, I don't deserve you." I smiled. "Yeah, I know." He winked. My mouth hung open with a smile. I was about to commentate when he spoke again.
"Now, come on, this ice is hurting my knees." He said. He stood up, helping me back to my feet.
I looked around at the people clapping for us. I saw the guy filming coming our way. He handed Faro his phone back.
"Dude, I'm so happy for you two!" He laughed. "Thanks, man." Faro smiled. "Perfect timing, by the way! The sun gave the video perfect lighting. Golden hour was definitely a great time to do it." "That's what I was hoping for."
"You two should get drunk to celebrate." He nudged Faro with his elbow.
I laughed.
"Nope. First time this idiot got drunk, he woke me up crying because we both went to bed topless and he was afraid he had made me have sex with him while he was drunk." I giggled, leaning against him. Faro groaned. "Don't tell people that, Ray." He said.
"No, that's sweet! You were worried!" The guy stuck out his bottom lip, blinking. Faro rolled his eyes.
"Agh, I can't wait to tell my family." I smiled, inspecting the shiny diamond ring. "They're gonna be so happy."
I looked up at Faro. He had a warm smile on his face, that had just the slightest hint of sadness in it. I remembered his mom, and gave him a warm hug.
After a while, Faro and I left. Hand in hand. Leaned on each other's shoulders.
