TW// homophobia, being used for money talks, crying

Raven's POV
few days later

Currently, Faro was staying in that same hotel he was before. Yes, I was living with my family now, but I stayed the night at Faro's hotel with him most nights. More like every night. At least five out of seven nights a week. I had a key to his room as well.

I had been with Sashi most of the day, as it was a Saturday, and decided to head over to Faro's place for the rest of the day.

I got on the elevator and went to his floor, and then walked down the hall to his room. Upon unlocking the door, I heard what sounded like sniffs and crying from inside.

"Faro..?" I asked, walking into the room. I spotted him sitting up on his bed with his knees pulled up to his chest, his arms wrapped around his legs, and his head lying on his knees.

"Faro, what happened? Are you alright?" I asked, quickly going over and sitting down next to him, pulling him into a hug.

"It's- It's my mum." He said.

I paused.

"Is she- Is she ok? Do you need to go home?" I asked. "Oh, no, she's fine! She's perfectly happy without me there!" He sniffed, several tears running down his face. "What...do you mean?" I asked.

"She- She texted me. She hasn't contacted me once for a while. She probably texted me just twice after I git here the first time. And- And now..." He choked, sobbing heavily. "She texted me this." He said, shakily handing me his phone.

Mum

I haven't texted because I needed time
to process what you and that boy did on
the television.
I am very disappointed in you.
You know that's a sin, being a
homosexual.

What?

I don't want you to come back to my
home. You stay in Brazil with your
gross boyfriend. If you come back
it better be to just collect your
things.
And don't bother replying to this.

I slowly handed his phone back to him.

"She- She hates me, Ray. My mum hates me!" He pressed his palms into his eyes. "She doesn't hate you. A mother could never actually hate her own child. She just...well she just doesn't understand it." I rubbed circles on his back. "She'll come around." I said.

"But- But what if she doesn't? I cant go anywhere! And I can't stay in a hotel for the rest of my life! I'm just glad she doesn't have access to my bank account." He dryly laughed. "You don't think she'd actually try to take your money, do you?" I asked.

"Love, money is the whole reason I ever even started competing. I picked up skating as a little hobby and when I stared getting really good, she hired me a coach and made me start competing for the money. She didn't know that she wasn't gonna have access to the money." He admitted.

"I'm...so sorry. Do you even like figure skating?" I asked. "Yes! I love it! It's just...I don't like the reason behind why I started it." He said. I slowly nodded. "I'm sorry. She doesn't deserve you. We'll figure something out for where you can live. I can try to make room in my house."

He slightly smiled, leaning against me.

"Thank you, Raven. I love you so much." He said.

"I love you too."
