Justin

"What on earth are you wearing?" I questioned, deciphering whether I should be amused and laughing by this comedy act right in front of me or mortified that I associate myself with the comedy act right in front of me.

Even Jazmyn beside me turned her head, endeavouring to stifle a chuckle.

Jazmyn had actually come as a female Death Eater from her favourite book series, Harry Potter. Her outfit was a long black dress with a cape and boots, devoid of the metal mask, however. Mom had even took the obligation of curling Jamyn's hair to make her look more like Bellatrix Lestrange – even though Jazmyn has light brown hair like I do. But characteristically, she still managed to wear her navy bow.

"I am Danny Zuko from Grease. All the girls love John Travolta in Grease," answered Ryan indignantly, holding his head high. A group of girls strolled past us in nurse explicit Disney costumes. Ryan pulled out a comb mechanically and began running it through his wig. He slipped it back in when several of the girls winked, swaying their hips sensually. "Be right back, man," he muttered. In the next moment, he was chattering away to all of them.

"And you, Chaz?" I asked, nodding my head at him.

"I'm a zombie gladiator. Can't you tell from my shield and fake blood I'm smothered in?" He held up his hand that was holding the shield and stretched his arm out. "It's all on my face. I think my sister went a little overboard."

"The fake blood looks so life-like," I said derisively, easing into a chuckle.

With the sword in Chaz' other hand, he picked it up and pointed it at my chest. It was only fake so it didn't even pain me. Pushing it away, I chuckled once again at his ludicrous outfit. I shook my head but when I looked up again, Chaz was staring behind me. His lips were ajar and even Jazmyn muttered, "I'm going to find my own friends now, Justin. I'll see you at eleven." Eleven tonight was when the fair ended. It was only six now.

I turned around and was struck by three girls. One was wearing some sort of long, green gown with lacy sleeves; another was wearing the female version of Robin Hood with a small hat, bow and arrows with a holder, too around her back. She was even wearing boots, too which were just visible from where her dress ended. The dress reached the floor, also. Then finally, the girl right on the left was wearing a Native American costume – a light russet colour that reached her knees. She wore light brown flats, too. And much like Jazmyn, she had her Coke string necklace around her neck.

"Juliet," I breathed, surveying her outfit with enthralment rather than just checking her out. Today I was going to call her Juliet, and not Coke Girl like standard. "You three look great," I added, sucking in a breath. "Michelle and Beth?"

Juliet bowed her head and scuffed the tip of her shoes against the grass.

"I'm Michelle," said the girl in the Robin Hood costume. "And that's Beth."

"I'm a temptress, just in case you didn't realise," she pointed out, widening her arms and presenting the lace.

"I have wo other friends you could presumably tempt," I remarked.

"Are you a knight?" Juliet questioned abruptly.

"I am a Kings Crusader, actually," I corrected. "But my sword is pretty cool, you have to admit." I held my hand up and moved the sword around. Even though it was fake like Chaz', I knew mine was still better. For one, his was foam and mine was plastic.

Jazmyn had to dish out her work savings for us to have costumes this year and enable us to go. Mom didn't help one bit with the finance at all. Jazmyn scoped the Internet for cheap costumes and fortuitously found the female Death Eater costume for cheap. Mine was a little trickier. I had to first figure out what I wanted to be. My original idea was going to be a zombie football player, but my old football costume didn't fit me anymore. That's when I had to scavenge the Internet. And then I found this Kings Crusader outfit.
