"I hate yo-" I scream as something cold hits my face and swallows the rest of my words. I fall to the ground laughing, the snow providing me with a soft landing.
"No, you love me." Erling answers before throwing himself next to me, wrapping one of his strong arms around my waist. I turn to look at his face and his rosy cheeks and lips, paired with the snowflakes in his hair are probably the cutest thing I have ever seen. I plant a quick kiss on Erling's forehead and I guess I was wrong because the smile that is now on his face is even cuter. He's right. I love him. Oh, how I love this man.
"I'm officially done with snowball fights for the rest of my life." I gasp which earns me an offended look from my boyfriend. But we both know I would do everything he'd ask me to. And he would probably be able to talk me into another fight in the cold. Erling stands up and offers me both of his hands, before pulling me to my feet with way too much force, which causes me to stumble into his body. I place my hands on Erling's chest, after steadying myself. He looks down at me, lowers his head and I meet him halfway. The taste of his soft lips and chocolate, from the cookies his mum baked earlier, makes me feel at home like I have never experienced before. I teasingly trace his upper lip with my tongue, until he finally opens his mouth, allowing me to enter and deepen our kiss. By putting my hands around Erling's neck I pull him even closer. The taller one lays his arms around my waist, urging me to jump and wrap my legs around his torso. I can feel Erling's lips curl into a smile against mine and just a second later he throws himself into the snow with me on top. An embarrassing scream leaves my mouth as we hit the ground and the loud laugh from my boyfriend, which I could usually listen to for hours, echoes through the foggy air.
"Erling I'm so fucking cold." I complain with a whiny voice, sending him an offended look but he continues to laugh while pulling me to my feet for the second time today.
"How about a hot shower then?" he whispers before quickly brushing his lips against mine, leaving me wanting more. But Erling has already pulled away from me, grabbing my right hand and dragging me toward his parents' house. I groan. He can be such a tease.
...
Cuddled up in a big blanket we lay on the sofa, some cheesy Christmas movie playing in the background. And even though the holidays have been over for over a week now I wish we would never leave this place and stay locked in this little Christmas wonderland forever. A warm fireplace and hot chocolate is all I would need to live. And Erling of course. I could never live without him.
Speaking of the devil. I can feel my boyfriend hesitantly lift his head, which was curled up in my neck. I thought he had fallen asleep. My fingers are still dancing up and down Erling's upper arm, earning me a satisfied hum from him.
"Would you ever consider moving here?" he asks, almost in a whisper. "I mean not this house specifically but you know ... Norway." Erling quickly adds waving his hands around excitedly. My heartbeat quickens. I'm afraid he'll be able to hear it. By the beautiful smile on his face, he is definitely able to see the blood rush to my cheeks, turning them almost dark red.
"Are you kidding? I'd love to." I squeak throwing my arms around Erling's neck, rolling us around until I'm on top of him. Both of our smiles keep growing and I can tell how nervous Erling was to ask me this question. The tension leaves his body as I hug him even tighter. And when I press my lips onto his, full of care and love, I can already see my future. Our future.
