Since their separation and even through their divorce, Charles and Diana remained friends. Often when their schedules allow they call each other to talk and check on each other. There are times Charles will stop over to visit Diana, as well as the boys when they are home from school. This comes as a surprise to Diana's friends when they see Charles leaving Diana's apartment when they arrive to visit.

Despite everything they went through they still care about each other's well-being. Most importantly being the best parents to their sons William and Harry.

Charles' limo stops in front of the entrance of Kensington Palace. A place he once called home in the early years of his marriage. He gets out and rings the bell. Today he decided to stop by and see Diana since he was in the neighborhood. It's been a few weeks since they last talked to each other.

The maid opens the door and lets him inside.

"Your Highness, the Princess is getting ready to go to an event, but I will let her know you are here," the young girl says to him before walking off.

"Oh I wasn't aware she had an engagement this afternoon," Charles says as he looks around the empty living room.

Not much changed after he moved out years ago. Except for a few pieces of furniture, Diana kept "their" apartment the same. In that instant, he thinks back to the many happy memories that occurred here.
He can't help but wonder where things go wrong.

In less than six months it will officially be one year since their divorce was finalized. Lately, he's been wondering what went wrong. Did he truly try to fix their marriage before throwing in the towel because it would be painful to face his faults in the breakdown of their relationship?

Charles is pulled from his thoughts when he hears his ex-wife's voice. She must be on the phone as he doesn't hear another voice replying. When Diana emerges he is instantly stopped in his tracks.

She looks gorgeous in the blue dress she has on. A dress that shows off her long legs, an ample amount of cleavage, and stops dangerously above her knees. Since their separation, he noticed a change in Diana that he had never seen before.

She started to wear more daring clothes which revealed more skin. She changed the way she wore her hair. Diana went through a complete transformation. The Diana he once knew was no longer, she is now more confident, more outgoing, and sexier.

"Hi Charles," he notices her waving at him.

Embarrassed to be caught staring, he clears his throat before speaking. "Hello Diana, how are you?"

"I'm good, how are you?" Diana replies before greeting her ex-husband with a customary kiss on both cheeks.

"I'm well, I just stopped by to see how you were doing. I should have checked with your secretary, I didn't know you were about to head out to an engagement," he replies.

"It's no problem, I'm going to see Swan Lake at the Royal Albert Hall," Diana replies adjusting her bracelet.

"Oh I heard about it, it's being performed by the National Ballet," Charles replies sticking his hand in his pockets.

"Yes, I'm supposed to be leaving soon, please have a seat," Diana says sitting down on the sofa. Her dress inched a little higher giving him more of a glance at the legs he once kissed. A part of him wondered if she was wearing any underwear.

"Thank you, actually I better get going. I don't want to delay you in getting ready for your engagement. I also have some friends coming over later. I just wanted to see how you were doing," Charles replies nervously.

"Ok, we'll I guess I'll talk to you later," Diana says getting up.

"Yes, have a nice time," Charles says walking to the exit.

"Thank you," Diana responds confused why he is leaving so abruptly.

When they get to the front door, they kiss each other goodbye. Diana watches as Charles' car pulls off.

She wonders what came over him, why was he acting weird. It's not like he's never seen her in a dress before.

She shrugs as if it could be nothing, as he genuinely didn't want to interfere with her plans. Since they separated Charles is more considerate of her time and more patient. They both have changed a lot since they separated. Turning, Diana heads back to her apartment to finish getting ready for tonight.
