"There is no heart for me like yours." - Maya Angelou

"Are you sure this is what you want? If I give my blessing, you and Diana better work out what issues the two of you have because I will not go through what happened in ninety-two all over again!"

"Yes mummy, I'm sure this is what I want. Diana and I are in a better space this time around. Whatever issues we have we will work through them," Charles says looking at his mother.

"You know this wedding will not be like the first time. The wedding will not be as big, it will be a small ceremony with just family and close friends."

"Yes, mummy."

"Have you and Diana discussed marriage?"

"Not really, I just wanted to talk to you first before I brought it up to her."

"I need time to think about it before I give you an answer," Elizabeth says before dismissing her son.

Charles heads back to Kensington Palace to check on Diana. Since that night in Paris, they have become even closer than before. Thankfully the visit to the accident site has helped Diana open up more and become somewhat like her old self, just more mature. Visiting the site made him cherish her more and become more understanding.

"Diana, darling I'm home," Charles calls out while holding a bouquet of white and pink roses.

"I'm in the bedroom, darling," Diana replies.

With a naughty smile on his face, Charles makes a quick beeline to the bedroom.

When he arrives, he finds her sitting in front of her vanity touching up her makeup.

"Hello, darling how was your meeting with mama?" Diana asks reapplying her lipstick.

"It went well, not as well as I would have liked," he replies before kissing her cheek.

"Aww, maybe she's just having an off day."

"I guess, considering the subject matter she's very hesitant about it."

She shrugs as she begins to put her makeup tools away.

Sitting down on the foot of the bed, Charles looks at the woman sitting in front of him. This time he knows it's right and he is willing to make things work.

"Diana, have you thought about us...you know getting remarried?"

"It's crossed my mind a few times, but I doubt your mother will approve of such a thing."

Based on the conversation they had it didn't seem like his mother was a fan of the idea. Although he wishes he could prove to his mother that he and Diana were going to make it this time.

Late that night Diana is getting ready for an engagement Charles asked her to come along to. Tonight, they are going to the premiere of the movie Shakespeare in Love.  She decided to wear a white strapless gown with a split that stops middle of her right thigh with glass beads that look like diamonds accent the edges of the gown. She decided to wear simple diamond teardrop earrings and a matching tennis bracelet and for her accessories white Jimmy Choo heels and a small white clutch.

Just as they make sure everything is perfect, Charles enters the bedroom. Once he gets a look at Diana, he is rendered speechless.

"Oh darling, you look lovely," Charles says smiling at her.

"Thank you, you look very handsome," Diana replies straightening his bow tie.

They share a quick peck on the lips before they head off to the movie premiere.

Their car arrives outside, and Diana pauses for a moment.

"Are you ok darling?"

"I'm fine, I'm just feeling a little nervous that's all."

"Don't be, I'll be right there with you," Charles replies giving Diana a reassuring smile. He knows this is her first official public appearance since the accident.

Diana smiles and the door swings open. She steps out first before Charles gets out behind her. Surprising her he takes her hand and holds it as they walk towards the entrance of the theater. Inside they are greeted by different people and the actors who starred in the film themselves. After greeting everyone they are shown to their seats.

Two and a half hours later, Diana and Charles return to Kensington Palace. Once inside Diana takes off her heels as they make their way upstairs to her apartment, which is becoming their apartment again. Slowly but surely, Charles has begun moving his things back.

The two of them sit down on the sofa while Diana snuggles into Charles' embrace.

"That was a good movie," Diana says breaking the silence that befell them.

"It was," Charles replies as he can't take his mind off the beautifully toned leg that is exposed. All night he wanted to kiss it, caress it. One thing he couldn't deny about Diana is she has an amazing pair of legs.

With a sigh, Diana gets up. "I'm going to get ready for bed."

"Ok, I'm right behind you."

Diana enters the bedroom and takes off her jewelry first.

"Charles, would you mind unzipping me, please?"

"Of course," he replies grasping the tiny zipper.

Slowly he begins to pull the zipper down revealing her bare back, then places a kiss on the center of her neck.

"You looked beautiful tonight darling," Charles says nuzzling her neck.

"Thank you," Diana replies enjoying being in Charles' arms.

"Why don't we get ready for bed," Charles groans against her neck before placing another kiss.

"Ok, I need to wash this makeup off," Diana says stepping out of her gown.

"Why don't you let me help you with that my love," Charles says his voice husky.

"I don't see why not," Diana replies shooting a wink over her shoulder.

Charles lies in bed holding a sleeping Diana in his arms. All night all he could think about was the conversation he had with his mother. He prays for his mother will see the beauty in his and Diana's new relationship. He loves Diana and he wants to make it work this time, not only just for him and Diana, but for their sons whom they both love so much.

For the first time in a long time, he prays. Prays that he continues to be the best man and eventually the best husband to the woman in his arms. To be an even better parent than his parents were to him and his siblings. He prays that their future will be better than the past.
