"WEDNESDAY, AHHHH! OH MY GOD! I'M SO HAPPY YOU'RE AWAKE!" enid squealed, throwing her arms around her best friend.

wednesday winced because enid was hugging her so tight. "your arms are piercing my body. thank you." the werewolf frowned as she pulled away from the psychic. "ugh, you're all dark and emotionless again. aren't you mad that you still can't remember anything?"

the noirette stared blankly at the blonde. "no, i'm not. i was shot by a sheriff, enid. my memory is one of my last concerns at the moment." her roommate shrugged. "yeah, that's valid. soooo you and xavier," she said with a toothy smirk.

"what about me and xavier?" wednesday asked. "YOU'RE DATING, DUH. AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO TELL ME!"

wednesday found enid's comment amusing. "he only said that so he could get into the infirmary, enid. you have no reason to blow your top off. xavier and i are friends, and it's that simple."

enid rolled her eyes. "okayyy, if you say so. i have to go back and finish breakfast and get to class, but xavier wanted me to give these to you. he said he would've given them to you himself but he left them in his dorm. he says they're not love letters, so take that with a grain of rice." she leaned closer into wednesday's ear and whispered, "he's definitely lying, btw. they're definitely love letters. he was here every single day."

enid then handed the rubber-banded letters to wednesday and skipped off back to the buffet.

wednesday was hesitant to open the letters, but eventually did. at first, she couldn't help but scoff at what he'd written.

Dear Wednesday, I hope when you read this you're not in pain. I visit you every morning....

but as the girl read on, every letter after the other got more intense, more personal, and more caring. it absolutely terrified her.

her heart nearly stopped when she read the last few sentences of the letter he'd written her yesterday.

Don't tell anyone else (not that you'll probably want to after you read this anyways) but you're my favorite girl at Nevermore. Or anywhere, in fact.

favorite girl at nevermore?! had he not seen the beautiful fangs and werewolves?!

But I didn't just admit that to you because if I did you'd never stop poking fun at me because of it.

xavier knew her too well. she would make fun of him for it, but maybe not this time... because she felt the same way.

I can't wait to see you awake and talk to you. God, tomorrow is going to be the best.

All my love,
Yours always,
Xavier

wednesday became afraid and wanted to gouge out her eyes reading those last three lines. Yours always? how could he mean it? they'd had so much trouble trying to be together in the past.

All my love?
the girl's breath slowed and her eyes widened in fear.
xavier thorpe had done it again.
he'd admitted how much he loved her.

wednesday quickly tied the letters back together and hid them under her pillow.

she knew she wasn't supposed to, but she slowly got up from her hospital bed and very quietly snuck past the woman at the infirmary's front desk.

she tried her hardest to blend in with the other students making their way to their classes, but wearing a black hospital gown with decorative little white flowers on it betrayed her.

"wednesday! what the hell are you doing?" enid said. the raven had almost made it back to her dorm, but was spotted by her best friend just two doors away. "i wanted to sleep in my own bed. the infirmary is absolute torture," wednesday lied.

enid gave her a do you really expect me to believe this? look. "you love torture. what are you doing up here? you're supposed to be on bed rest!" wednesday stared at her best friend. "i can be on bed rest in my own bed. go to class, enid, or you're going to be late."

enid gave her another look. "i can be late to class. but you have to get back down to the infirmary. you're hurt!" wednesday rolled her eyes. "i'm not hurt, enid. the bullet wound was cleaned over a week ago."

enid then pulled out her phone and typed ridiculously fast into it. "what are you doing?" wednesday questioned. "doesn't matter, you need to sit down, let's go into the dorm," the blonde said reluctantly.

wednesday followed her best friend and went and sat down on her bed. "thank hades. i thought i would never get out of that white colored room."

minutes later, a knock came from the outside of the dorm room. enid ran to get it. when she saw the face waiting, she smiled gratefully. "omg, good, you're here. maybe you can talk some sense into her."

it was xavier.

wednesday stared at the boy. "why are you here?" she asked.

he walked closer to her, trying to make himself feel bigger. "wednesday, come on. you can't just stay in here. you heard malachi earlier. you have to stay in the infirmary."

wednesday hated that he'd come to help enid get her back to what she was supposed to be doing. "i'm fine here, xavier."

xavier gave her a dark look before running as fast as he could and grabbing her into his arms, running like a chicken down the halls.

"xavier! stop it! put me down!" wednesday shouted.

the boy couldn't help but smirk. she'd never shouted before. it was more emotion than he was used to around her.

finally, when they made it back to the infirmary, he obeyed and put her down, back onto that hospital bed.

"that was completely unfair. you didn't even give me a chance to fight," wednesday told xavier.

he shrugged and sat on the bed next to her. "yeah, well, it's the only way to get you back to somewhere good for you."

wednesday looked unamused. "my dorm is not bad for me." xavier then moved to sit next to the girl on her bed. "it is right now. we just want what's best for you, wednesday."

wednesday looked into the boy's eyes and realized it was brainless to keep her secret anymore.

she had to tell someone, so it might as well be xavier.

"my memory came back."
