❧Ever since I had returned from Tyler's, the next few days had been terrible. A deluge of bad incidents. I was going mad from all the worry.
Wednesday, in the ultimate betrayal told me that since she needed an in at the raven dance and a partner for that, Thing had ended up sending a note to Tyler asking him to go out with her.
Left with no choice, I asked Xavier if I could accompany him to the dance since it would be better if both of us were at the dance and I could keep an eye on Xavier.
I took a deep breath, getting ready in the bedroom for the dance, preparing my heart to see the guy I liked dance with someone else.
"She's going to catch up you know, it's idiotic, the way you think you have everything in control."
"I have done a better job of keeping her away than you have. Frankly, terrible! I never fail to get the job done."
"Enough, the plan must go accordingly. Tyler, sweetie, I think we need to do something. Last time, the kid got away with a teeny tiny scratch and that served no one. This time, make sure he ends up in the hospital for at least a week. We need to keep Rose away from this. You would do that for me, wouldn't you? Just remember, we are avenging your mother."
