Bella and her two friends had crossed the road, and now they were sitting at a table, satisfying full.
The workers there had taken pity on them, and had fed them. All the events with Ms. Conners had happened yesterday.
Enton had convinced her and Charten to wait until today go to Seafood Sams, so they had slept in the woods until morning.
Minutes later, Bella watched as a large group of kids about her age walked into the restaurant.
And they all strolled in like they owned the place.
Bella tracked them out of the corner of her eye. Abruptly, a boy with curly hair brown hair and dark blue eyes got up from his group of friends.
He shared some quick words with one of the girls, then walked over to them.
As she listened to him introduce himself, Bella learned that his name was Dustin. In turn, she introduced Charten and Enton.
"Do you guys want to join us?" Dustin asked, gesturing to the other kids.
As she agreed, Bella noticed his friends groan. She decided to pretend not to hear.
Bella also realized that this was their chance to make some new friends.
