Verena was sitting at the well behind her house, alone and bored. She stamped her feet. Suddenly someone threw a big nur and hit her right in the head .

"Hey!" She snapped angrily, and saw Thranduil was the one who threw the nut

Thranduil smiled, he walked towards Verena waving "hi" He said enthusiastically

"Hey, why are you here, my prince?" Verena asked in surprise

"Looking for you. What are you doing?" Thranduil asked back

"Nothing, just spending time alone" Verena replied

"Why are you alone?" Thranduil asked again

"Because I hate people." Verena answered simply

"Oh.... Am I included?"

"If you keep asking, yes! You are included"

Thranduil smiled "sorry. Do you want to play with me?" he asked again

Verena widened her eyes

"Yes, forgive me! That considered as a questions." He then grabbed Verena's hand and took her away

"Hey, where are we going?"

Thranduil shrugged "I have no idea. How about picking apples?"

"Apple? I'm bored already! How about a flower?" Verena suggested

"Flowers? What flowers do you want to eat?"

Verena thought "I haven't eaten hibiscus in a long time. Would you like one?"

"Hibiscus! It is my favorite! Where can we find it?" Thranduil asked enthusiastically

"You like it too?!"

Thranduil nodded enthusiastically "yes!"

Verena smiled broadly "let me show you" Verena took over and took Thranduil's hand..

The two of them ran into the forest which was a bit dim, lots of very beautiful Hibiscus flowers thriving there.

Verena plucked a flower and gave it to Thranduil "here. Try it" she said

Thranduil took the flower and smelled it "it smells better!" Thranduil picked the petals

"Fresh flowers that are picked directly from the ground, must be sweeter. Because they are still fresh and covered with rainwater"

"Oooh..." Thranduil nodded

They picked some and then sat together eating some hibiscus. "Why don't you like playing with the other elves?" Thranduil asked

"Because I don't like them. They think I'm weird. And always look at me with very judgmental eyes. So I'll just play alone" Verena then looks at Thranduil "what about you? Don't you have any friends?"

Thranduil shakes his head "no. I mean not much, there's an Elfing named Meludir, he's lovely. But too clumsy. And lord Feren, and lord Galion too. They're nice, but they're always busy. Especially my father."

"His Majesty seems like a kind person" Verena said

"Yes. He is! But he's too busy, so I always spend time alone, and all the elves are afraid of me. Except you"

"Afraid? Why are they afraid of you?" she asked

Thranduil shrugged his shoulders "probably because I'm the king's son"

"I'm not afraid of you, even though you're the king's son"

"That's why I like you" Thranduil held out his hand "let's make a promise"

Verena takes Thranduil's outstretched hand "what promise?"

"Promise let's keep in touch and be friends!"

Verena smiled broadly "alright!"
