Thranduil felt cramped all day in his study. Because he felt he had completed some of the most important documents, he wanted to get some fresh air from the balcony.
He stood on the balcony and stretched his aching back "why am I like an old grandpa" he whispered to himself "well. Basically I'm ancient" he laughed at his own joke.
He looked down and saw Verena picking some red roses in the garden. He smiled, and an idea appeared in his head "MELUDIR" He ran to call Meludir

Thranduil crept closer to Verena with his hands folded behind his back
"If you meant to startle me, it didn't work. Your feet are too heavy when they hit the ground, even the elves in Lothlorien can hear your footsteps. And I know what your footsteps sound like" Verena turned and glared at Thranduil
Thranduil shrugged his shoulders "looks like I failed" Thranduil sat on the grass with Verena, with his hands still folded behind his back
"What are you hiding?" Verena asked
"What? Behind me?" Thranduil smiled mischievously at her
She raised one of her eyebrow "is it a toad? If yes I swear I will kick you to the edge of Mirkwood"
Thranduil laughed amusedly, he then revealed what was behind his back "I brought this for you. Remember something?"
Thranduil took out a red hibiscus flower from behind his body
Verena smiled in surprise "hibiscus!" Verena said excitedly "is this from where we used to play when we were elfings?"
Thranduil nodded
"I haven't been there for a long time!"
"You can replace the ugly flower ashes on your necklace with this" Thranduil said
Verena looked at her neck "this? I would never replace this with anything!"
Thranduil frowned "why not? For Valar's sake Verena, it's been over seven hundred years!"
"What about you? Take off that ugly thread"
Thranduil looked at his wrist "I won't!"
"Then neither do I!"
"Why not throw it away?" Thranduil asked
"Makes me always remember you, and makes me feel like I'm always near you. And that makes me feel safe" Verena answered, with a smile on her face
"But we will always gonna be together, I will always be with you. Forever"
"Why are you so sure?"
"Because I will always look after you, and make sure you are safe and happy"
Thranduil took both of Verena's hands and kissed them. He then kissed Verena's lips and laid her down on the grass. The two of them started kissing for a long time until they heard someone coughing near them
Thranduil and Verena both looked over
"Feren" Thranduil said
"My king. You are needed in your room" Feren said with flat face and voice
"Alright. I'll be there soon"
Feren nodded, he then do a quick nod and left the two of them.
Thranduil and Verena looked at each other and laughed in amusement
"That's awkward!" Verena said
"Poor Feren" Thranduil said, amused
Verena hit Thranduil's chest hard "Go! Don't torture him any further" Verena joked
And with a quick kiss Thranduil ran away leaving Verena
Verena laughed at Thranduil's behavior, she shook her head, but the smile did not leave her face
