Today the wedding is carried out, not with joy, but covered with sadness. Everyone at the wedding wasn't cheerful or smiling.

Thranduil waited for his bride to come out to the altar. After a few minutes Thranduil could hear Verena's footsteps. He turned around and saw Verena walking in wearing a white dress, which was very pretty. A long dress, and also a very long Veil covering her entire face

Even if it was only for a second, they smiled at each other.

When Verena arrived in front of Thranduil, Thranduil opened Verena's veil and they stared at each other.

Their hands were tied by a red rope. And they tied the knot right then and there.

They officially became husband and wife. Crown prince and crown princess. The future king and queen. But there was no cheering, the banquet was said to be very quiet, and only for a moment. The wedding felt like a funeral

Thranduil was wearing his armor in his room. Suddenly he felt someone touch him from behind

Thranduil smiled when he saw Verena helping him to fit his clothes

"All of you going straight to Lindon?"

Thranduil shook his head "no. I have to meet Elrond first, we are moving to Imladris"

Verena lowered her head "I'm afraid Thranduil"

Thranduil cupped Verena's face "I can't say anything, Verena. Apart from sorry. On our wedding day, you had to let me go to war. You can leave me, but you are willing to marry me and let me go to war" Thranduil knelt, he hugged Verena's waist "I'm sorry... If there is another way"

Verena knelt down, leveled their height "you are fighting for our people, for the people, for the middle earth, for me" Verena smiled

"After this is all over, we will live together in peace forever. You, me, our future child, and my father. Together we will be a happy family. And when the time comes we will sail together"

Verena nodded "yes. We will"

They both hugged on the floor.

Verena was in the front row, giving Thranduil a kiss one last time.

"After this there will be nothing but peace" Thranduil whispered

"I will still be here to wait for you"

They hug each other for the last time.

Thranduil mounted his horse, and the party slowly departed, their departure accompanied by songs of mourning, sorrow, and throwing of flowers.

Thranduil looking back, he saw Verena smiling and waving at him, with tears in her eyes. Thranduil wanted to see her one last time, and he smiled back at Verena
