Thranduil wakes up, startled "Verena! Am I dreaming?!"

"Dream? what do you mean?"

"Where have you been lately?!" he asked

"I'm going with my parents somewhere else for a few days" she replied

"And how did you get in here? Are you allowed?"

Verena nodded "yes. Lord Feren allowed me. In fact he told me where your room is" Verena then tugged Thranduil's hand "come play with me! I miss you!"

Thranduil just gave up when Verena grabbed his hand and dragged him into the forest.

They picked apples, pears, even some flowers. They ate, laughed, and told stories. But Verena seemed to be avoiding Thranduil's question, who asked where she was going with her parents

"Forget it! I don't like to talk about it"

"Why?" Thranduil asked, confused

"I don't like that place, ugly!"

"Ugly?"

Verena then approached Thranduil "what about you? Did you miss me?" Verena teased

Thranduil stuttered "I-no!" he denied

"Really? But the neighbors say you'll be standing around for hours at my house."

Thranduil lay down on the grass "maybe. Because I'm lonely"

"So you miss me? Admit it!" Verena teased again

Thranduil nodded "yes" He answered, his eyes looking at the slightly overcast sky.

Verena stood up, she started to sing, she then took off the long white shawl she was wearing, and started singing and dancing.

Thranduil looked at her in amazement, they both joked around, until it was almost night.

This afternoon Thranduil spent time in the study room with his father. Oropher was reading a parchment, and Thranduil was doing the homework Feren had given him

"Last night I heard you played for hours with that girl named Verena" Oropher asked

"Hmm," Thranduil nodded

"Have you two said your farewell yet?" Oropher asked

Thranduil furrowed his brow "farewell? What farewell?" he asked confused

"Today Lord Algar and Lady Andys will be moving to lindon along with Verena" Oropher answered

"What!" Thranduil yelled in surprise

"Lower your tone, my son"

"Pardon. But what do you mean?"

"The High King asked some trusted intelligent people as his new house hold, because some of his house hold decided to set sail. So suddenly Lord Algar recommended himself. They went to lindon a week ago to prepare their move. Didn't Verena tell you? " Oropher asked

"No!"

"Oh Valar, they'll be leaving now. It's probably gone already"

Thranduil jumped out of his chair and ran outside

"Thranduil!" Oropher called out but was ignored by him.

Thranduil ran as fast as he could to get to Verena's house. In his mind, he was still processing that he would never see Verena again
