That night, Thranduil entered his room, and saw Verena standing in front of the window, still wearing her nightgown, looking at the dark sky outside.
He could still hear Verena's cries. Thranduil approached her, and hugged her from behind, kissing her temple gently.
"I failed you," she said, her voice hoarse
"No. Never. You never failed me"
"I killed our child"
"No Verena, no" Thranduil still whispered those words in Verena's ear in a very soft tone
"If I hadn't been stubborn, none of this would have happened."
"Listen to me my love, all this happened for a reason. Maybe Valar knew we weren't ready to have children yet, so he took our baby back for now."
"Are you blaming me?" Verena asked
"No. Never, my love" Thranduil kissed Verena's forehead again "look up there, in the sky. Imagine our baby is playing there, with the other elfings under the protection of the Valar. Waiting for us to return to him. We haven't really lost him "We will meet him again. At the right time we will be with him again. So don't ever blame yourself again."
Thranduil tightened his embrace on Verena "Verena, whatever happens I will still be with you" he whispered
