Thranduil came into his room at night, it was very late, he thought that Verena was already asleep. But what he found, Verena was cradling little Legolas in her arms.
Thranduil approached her, and caressed her cheek "why aren't you asleep yet?" He asked softly
"He woke up and cried. Looks like he's hungry. I have to feed him first" Verena answered
Thranduil looked at Verena's face, her eyes were puffy and she looked tired
"You look tired" he said "take a rest"
"In a moment, he was just sleeping. If I put him down now, he will wake up again" Verena explained
"Then, I'll take a bath first."
Verena nodded
Thranduil came out of the bathroom in his nightgown, he saw little Legolas calm inside his crib, and Verena sitting at the end of the bed stretching herself.
Thranduil climbed onto the bed and massaged Verena's back "how was it?"
"Better" Verena smiled, and took Thranduil's hand, then kissed it "thank you"
"No, thank you" Thranduil then helped Verena lie down on the bed, and hugged her tightly "forgive me" he whispered
"What for?" Verena asked
"Can't help you with taking care of our son lately"
Verena chuckled "never thought in my mind you would apologize. Besides it wasn't necessary. I enjoyed every second with him"
"I will be more helpful in the future"
"No need to force it, you are the king. Many important things depend on you."
Thranduil kissed the top of Verena's head "thank you"
Verena hugged Thranduil tightly "can you hug me now? I'm tired"
Thranduil shifted his position and faced Verena, he hugged Verena tightly "of course..... Of course"
