Reunion

Kara's POV

It was a regular Saturday morning. Well, except for the moving commotion we were in

Mom: where are the frickin plates?!

Me: mom, relax. Their on the table.

Mom: then move your butt and get them!

Me: geez ok...

I did as I was told and then went back to pack my own stuff

Mom: KARA! Why are the plates not organized in colour?!

Me: they're... White?

Mom: no. This one's light yellow. And this one is beige!

Me: what the actual fuck?

I started to "organize" the plates but it didn't really function

After 2 hours of packing everything, we walked through the front door for the last time

Dad: ok. Anyone forgot something? Y'all have your phones and chargers?

Mom: yup

Me: positive.

Dad: then let's go!

We drove out of our former drive way onto the road

Jasper sat beside me looking at all the buildings we passed

There was one he had set his eyes on in particular

He looked a little sad as we passed it

Me: are... You ok?

Jasper: yah... It's just... That was my adoption center... All my friends are still in there...

Me: heh, well, that's right but I believe there are others in beach city who would gladly be your friends

Jasper: sure but.... It's hard to say goodbye to them... What about you Pinky?

Me: well, I don't have any friends, Jass.

Jasper: why? You're so nice!

Me: eh, because of my eyes

Jasper: I... Don't see anything wrong with them?

Me: well, they're not a natural color.

Jasper: so... You are like a gem? Some of them have weird eyes too right?

Me: where did you... Hear about the gems?

Jasper: it's common knowledge in foster cares.

Me: oh. Yeah! In some way, I'm like them... Just that I'm not a gem...

Jasper: maybe you are a part gem? Like the son of pink diamond! I mean, it is in your name.

Me: ok mister, Steven universe is the only only and first child of a gem. I just have a mutation or something!

Jasper: nawww... It would be so cool to have a sister with alien powers...

I was left speechless. Well, I do have powers. But I can't tell him that

I chose to just let it be.

I grabbed my earphones and my phone and slipped away into my own thoughts

Untill I was ripped out of them again by Jass shaking me

Me: wha-what is it?

Jass: you got games on your phone?

Me: ... No... But mom does.

Jass: ok! MOM! You got games on your phone?!

Mom: sure honey! Here you go!

He grabbed her phone and I was finally left in peace for the rest of the ride
