Aonung's POV:

I reached the cave a few seconds before Neteyam.

Once he was beside me again, he seemed annoyed.

"What?" I asked, the laugh escaping my lips.

"You cheated!" He said, absolutely  pissed.

"Sorry" I replied, smiling at him

He could tell I most definitely was not sorry.

"Well, would you like to go in first then?" I asked, gesturing for him to go in front of me.

He playfully scoffed, rolling his eyes and riding in.

I followed behind him slowly.

Once we were inside, we both seemed absolutely mesmerized.

I've been here more than a few times, but it never ceases to amaze me...

"It's so beautiful" Neteyam quietly spoke, looking down at the tree of souls.

"Yeah..." I replied, not looking down at the view, but at...

...Him

We swam closer, getting off our Ilus and going under.

I held his hand in mine as we swam down closer to the tree.

We both connected to the tree and closed our eyes.

Upon opening my eyes, I saw a clear beach, no Na'vi or Ilu.

I was confused for a second.

I've bonded with eywa a few times. But this has never happened.

"Hello?" I called out, searching for someone.

I walked down the beach, looking for other Na'vi

I turned the corner to see a rather tall dark blue Na'vi sitting on the sand a few meters away from the clear waves.

I walked closer, seeing their thin tail swing back and forth.

As I approached the figure, I stood on a seashell, making it crack and a loud noise coming from underneath me feet.

I froze in place, seeing the Na'vi's ear twitch and their tail stop.

"Hello..?" I said, still not being able to tell who it was.

They turned around, revealing their face to me.

I was surprised to see...

...Neteyam?

He had his legs crossed, and his hands on his legs.

He was confused at first, but soon, a light smile graced his face.

"Aonung?" He asked, his smile growing wider.

"Hi" I said in a softer voice, coming over and sitting down next to him.

He touched my arm, smiling at me.

"What are you doing here?" He asked, looking at me confused.

"I- I don't know..." I said, looking down at the soft sand beneath the both of us.

He inched closer, wrapping his arms around mine and leaning his head on my shoulder.

"Thank you" He said, closing his eyes.

"For what?" I asked, looking down at him confused.

"For keeping your promise." He replied staying in the same position.
