Aonung's POV

Being chief is hard.

Like, really hard.

It had been 5 months since I became chief and honestly, I don't think I would have made it without Neteyam

He was so supporting throughout the whole thing

I was running arends as usual, helping the village Na'vi and solving problems to help capture more fish

It was nice helping others and making an impact

But really, it was a lot calmer as just another Na'vi

Not to mention the amount of time I spend with Neteyam has been quickly decreasing.

So, as an apology, I decided to ask him out for the night

Just the two of us

I couldn't remember the last time we went on a date, so it was a nice idea

I walked through the village, greeting Na'vi and high fiving kids walking past

I eventually reached Lo'ak and Tsireya's hut

They had been together around the same amount of time Neteyam and I had been together

I knocked and waited at the entrance, calling out

"Lo'ak? Tsireya?" I asked, waiting for someone to come out

Suddenly Aru ran out, throwing her arms in the air and running towards me

"Uncle Aonung!" She shouted, getting closer

"Hey, Aru!" I replied, bending down and spreading my arms out wide

She jumped into my arms, hugging me tightly

"I missed you so much uncle Aonung!" She squirmed, bubbling with excitement

"I did too baba" I said, putting her on my right shoulder

"Aru, come back in here please" A tired voice called, walking out

"You have to take a bath" It was Lo'ak. Once he saw me, he looked shocked

"Oh, hey dude" He said, walking up to us

"Aru? Can you come down from uncle Aonung's shoulder?" He asked, looking up at Aru with his arms crossed

"Daddy needs to give you a bath"

"Hmmm" Aru hummed, thinking

"No!" She shouted in response, sticking her tounge out

I chuckled, putting her down

Aru was Lo'ak and Tsireya's 4-year-old daughter

Aru ran away, shouting something both me and Lo'ak couldn't hear

He rolled his eyes, sighing to himself

I laughed again seeing his reaction

"Where's Tsireya?" I asked, looking over his shoulder

"Asleep. She hasn't had a break since Aru was born, so she deserves it"

I nodded in agreement

"Being a father is so much harder than I thought. Now I know how my dad felt" He said, laughing to himself

I shrugged, looking down at him

"Neteyam and I could take care of Aru for a day if you need" I offered, trying to help the two out

"Thanks man. We really need it" He laughed again, scratching the back of his head

"Anyway, what did you need?" He asked
