Here comes the gift session~
Adya goes first. She manages to make the cutest birthday cards possible for us which brings the brightest smiles on our faces and warms our hearts in this cold winter season.
Ryan goes after her. I can see excitement in his face. He hands both of us our respective gifts. Mine feels like there are too many small things wrapped inside a cardboard. Okay I feel excited too.
Adya opens her first. It's a picture book she have been wanting to read since quite a time, a big chocolate and a cute tiara with moon and stars over it. It's the way he knows everything which would make her happy. My heart squeaks.
Okay it's my turn now and I am excited more than I should be or actually nah, I should be excited. As I open the gift wrapper my heart beats faster in excitement. It's been ages since I received any gifts from anyone. I can see him looking my way excitedly as I open my gift. He is cute as usual.
A popular romcom which I already have read but didn't like it much. Bold of him to assume I haven't read a popular book yet but I love his efforts. I feel a little jealous of Adya as he knows her tastes better than mine. I pout but it's okay since it's her. He probably searched for it in internet as we barely talk about books and games. He knows my favourites but he doesn't know what I don't like and so he bought this. Even I barely know about his preferences except for the genres and the trendy ones he plays. I just fangirl over the fact that my boyfriend is a gamer. Lol. I think I should give this book another chance may be this time I might like it even more for a completely different reason. I continue. A chocolate with a note with an average yet cute in its own way handwriting. "You have to eat it today." Since I don't have a sweet tooth. 'Idiot, gift me potato chips instead', I say inside my mind blushing trying to conceal my smile. A small brown colour palm sized teddy. I know why he chose a boring colour. It's because he knows my gift for Adya and doesn't wants her to like this teddy more than my gift.
"Idiot." I murmur and smile. It's cute. The teddy I mean or may be both. At last there are two single artificial roses. I give the biggest smile on this one. A red rose and a yellow rose. He knows I don't like plucking original flowers so he went with this one. I swear he is the sweetest. This feels like a complete valentine's package since I won't be there for either Christmas, New Year or even Valentine's Day. I already feel sad and start missing them.
"My turn" I say. Adya seems even more excited than him. I hand over my gifts to them as Adya opens first. A medium sized stuffed panda since this was the only thing I could afford at that moment. A bright smile curves her lips as she hugs me. "Thankyou, I love it. I will give it a name too." AAAAAAAA she is so cute. My heart screams as I hug her back and tighter.
Finally his turn. My heartbeat increases. He opens it with surprise on his face. He seems too happy about it. An ocean blue hand knitted scarf and grey hand gloves since he feels too cold. It was my first time knitting them and I feel my hardwork paid just by looking him smiling. I wanted to knit for Adya as well but I have noticed her wearing the same maroon scarf and a purple pair of hand gloves whenever we meet or even at her home. It gives me a feeling they were knitted by her mother and so I didn't want her to replace them by mine.
Ryan wraps the scarf around his neck and puts on the hand gloves immediately. He looks at me with 'how is it?' written all over his face. We smile as we look at each. We click the best selfie of the day and continue with our celebration.
