He stopped visiting her at night.
She was lying in bed, wide awake and waiting. Her under-eye bags were visible, and her mind was too preoccupied to sleep. She got up from her bed and went to the window. She looked out at the quiet, peaceful street, feeling lonely.
Something is watching us.
Y/n narrowed her eyes. Scanning the street, she noticed a shadow. It stood far away, and Y/n could not understand what it was.
Could it be Juuzou?
She put on a jacket and ran to the street, her suitcase in her hand.
Tonight, the street felt different, as if the city had a strange, eerie quality to it. Y/n searched for the figure she saw, but no one was outside.
She passed closed shops and restaurants, their signs flickering in the darkness, creating an otherworldly atmosphere.
As the night wore on, Y/n returned to her doorstep. She felt tired but also strangely alert.
There is something inside.
She opened her door and walked into the apartment.
There was a sense that she wasn't alone anymore.
"Juuzou?" She asked, but no one answered.
The stillness in her room was tense, but when Y/n closed her eyes, she could sense her attacker.
Four bloody kagune tried to slice Y/n's head, but she managed to stop them by wielding her quinque.
The sound of breaking glass echoed throughout the house when Y/n shoved the attacker with her quinque.
"What do you want?" Y/n barked at the ghoul. She heard a chuckle before the ghoul stepped into the moon's light.
"I know you," Y/n whispered.
That's the girl from the Cochlea break-in. We killed her sister.
"Die~" The girl smirked in response, her kagune storming at Y/n again. Y/n moved quickly with precise movement, knowing how and when to block the kagune. The ghoul's launches were rough but quick, and Y/n knew she needed to move quickly to neutralize her.
She jumped from her couch to her table, avoiding her kagune and slicing the girl's body with each jump.
"Trying to avenge your sister?" Y/n mockingly remarked.
The girl glared at Y/n, her face filled with fury and anger.
"Kurona," Y/n suddenly remembered, smiling.
The ghoul caught Y/n and pushed her to the wall. Y/n widened her eyes as her head hit the wall, cracking it from the shock wave.
"You... have gotten stronger..." Y/n raised her body weakly, groaning in pain.
"I dreamed about this moment for years. I will kill you slowly... and show your limbs to Rei ... yes... it will be the best revenge!" She flees into Y/n. With a swift movement, Y/n shot the ghoul three times with her gun, and when kurona's face was inches from hers, she shoved the gun into her mouth and pulled the trigger.
"I don't think it will be a good revenge since I'm pretty sure Juuzou would love to see me dead," Y/n said sarcastically, smiling weakly.
Kurona vomited blood, holding her stomach in pain.
"You..." Kurona looked at Y/n with a disturbed look.
"How could you... follow someone so twisted... so wrong... if he doesn't even care about you!!!" She yelled, her Kagune trying to pierce Y/n again weakly, but she cut it with her quinque.
