Shared POV:

Tehran, Iran 07/18/2009

Kate ducked inside the plane as she saw the blue emergency lights reflect off the dark walls and streets on the horizon. She closed the door behind herself and hurried towards the front.

"Okay guys, we gotta move. Natasha, you coming?", Kate said squeezing past them to the front.

"Hosseini, you be the co-pilot. Maya needs my help back here.", she said turning away from her and guiding Maya and Kamran to the bathroom. Hosseini nodded accepting his order and walking into the cockpit. Kate followed right behind him, ignoring the false hope she had had that she would get her partner's support, taking off the ground.

Nat's POV:

The plane shook as it increased in speed. Nevertheless, she continued to stitch up a small wound on Kamran's forehead, while Maya rocked the overtired and irritated girl, who had finally been able to take off the headphones and blindfold after they had escaped the party.

"Okay, that shouldn't leave much of a scar, if you keep it hydrated.", she said packing up the little package of utensils, she had used.

"Thank you very much, Agent Romanoff.", he said putting his glasses back on. "Thank you for getting us out of there. You must be exhausted."

Her lips formed a humble, lightly awkward smile, as she thought about his words. "Well, you must be at least as exhausted. You should clean up and get some rest."

"Not necessary. We'd rather make sure that Daria is okay. We can't leave her alone now.", Maya answered not looking up from her daughter.

Rubbing her neck with her hand Natasha stood there. Looking at mother, father, and child, nodding to herself. "I can take care of her till you're done. We'll be fine, right Daria?", she asked the little girl squatting down, smiling at her.

Kate's POV:

Flying under their radar and staying undetected, wasn't an easy task with a plane of this size, but they had managed to get out of Iranian-controlled airspace. Finally, she was going to leave Hosseini to it, to clean up properly. She stepped out into the quiet first rows and stretched up to get her bathroom utensils from the overhead compartment to her side. As she pulled the little bag out she heard a small mumble. Or rather a hum. Sneaking over the carpet floor she got closer to the beds and what she saw made her smile for the first time this night. Natasha was holding Daria in her arms, singing her a quiet little song, that Kate didn't understand the words to. She had her eyes closed, her head rested against the headboard, and her hand was brushing the little girl's dark hair. Slowly the eyelids lifted and revealed the emerald eyes looking at Kate with a sense of peace.

Kate watched as the little girl fell asleep and rolled off Natasha, who pulled the blanket over the girl and got up without a sound. Kate lifted her little bag in her hand to show her partner what she was planning on doing, who walked over to her, took her free hand, and guided her to the bathroom, past the peacefully sleeping family.

Shared POV:

They stood opposite each other in the small room with their hands still locked. Slowly Natasha reached out and took the bag out of Kate's hand putting it down on the sink. Then her hand reached for Kate's face, who enjoyed the electrifying but tender touch on her cheek as the assassin cleaned out a small cut on her cheek. And though she was finished she let her hand rest there for just a second longer than needed.
