Wala na yata akong oras na bumalik sa opisina. My things were picked up by Arthur just to deliver it to the mansion because I am too exhausted and too busy to went to my office after the continuous work.
"Naghintay kagabi si Engineer, Ma'am..." balita ni Arthur nang magising ako at maagang pumasok.
I didn't show too much emotion about it but it lingered on my mind. Lalo na't halos alas dyiz ko na ata naalala ang mga gamit kong naiwan sa opisina na ipinakuha ko na lamang but he's still there?
"Nagtatanong nga 'yon pero sabi ko umuwi kana kasi pagod ka," he explained carefully.
That's partially true. I was tired. And very busy. Not that I'm guilty for leaving him behind but he needs to understand that what happened between us holds no water.
I enjoyed it but that's it. Hindi iyon sapat para mapabago ang isip ko sa magiging pasya sa kailangan niya sa amin.
A part of me wanted to trust Draven and put his name on the land title just to end the drama. But our past will always serve as a boundary that alot of things had happened and he's not the old Draven from the past.
Sabihin na nating hindi niya gagalawin ang hotel. Pero paano kung magbago ang isip niya sa kalagitnaan? Gusto ko naman siyang pagkatiwalaan pero... I sighed.
"If you want to trust him then make sure that you're doing it not because you're inlove with him. Masakit maloko lalo na kung may nararamdaman ka sa isang tao, Ashtraia," Lola reminded when we had dinner together.
Siguro nararamdaman niyang bibigay ako ano mang oras, na pag may nakita akong kaonting pag-asa at panghawakan para lang pagkatiwalaan si Draven, mababali ako.
"He's a good person, Lola. He won't betray me in case I approve his condition," sigurado kong sabi.
Oo at hindi pa naman ako pumapayag pero laging nasa likod iyon ng aking isip.
"Betrayal is the worst enemy, Ashtraia. Because they're always serve with someone we trust... with someone we least expected. With someone we love."
Nanuot iyon sa isip ko. Sa tuwing naiisip kong kaya niya iyong gawin, nagagalit ako. I was too busy that I didn't had the time to talk to him about what happened.
At ayaw ko rin naman talagang pag-usapan. Ano namang sasabihin ko? Thank you for your service? I enjoyed it so much? I can't wait for the next rounds? What the fuck?
Walang araw na hindi siya pumupunta sa opisina. Ngunit dahil hindi na ako halos makaupo man lang doon dahil sa dami ng ginagawa, hindi rin nabigyan ng tsansang makita ang isa't isa.
"Iniiwasan niyo si Engineer, Ma'am?" Arthur asked.
Iniiwasan?
"I'm busy, Arthur," I said while looking outside the window.
Antok na ako at nagtatalo na ang pagod sa akin. I just wanted to go home so I could lay on my bed after taking a shower.
"Mukhang pupunta ulit si Engineer bukas lalo na't may party rin po pala ni Kaycee Williams, Ma'am..."
I just nodded. Not that I am invited to think about it but for sure Draven will stay there. Ayos na rin 'yung distracted siya sa iba para naman makapagtrabaho ako nang maayos.
"Ang yaman pala talaga noon Ma'am... parang lahat ng mga list of visitors puro mayayaman. Kadalasan chinese pa ata. Kung hindi naman ay may ibang lahi," he continued talking while I lazily looked at the trees.
