I smiled as I watched George doing his interview, happy to see him so at ease and happy, and living out his dream.
George had always told me he wanted to be a Formula 1 driver, and usually, whatever he set his mind to he did it, and this was no exception.
I crossed my arms, leaning against the wall, smiling when I caught sight of his blooming smile and heard his laugh. God, just his laughter lit up a room just like that.
I really had it bad for him.
We exchanged glances as I looked at him, and George smiled, winking at me. The interviewer, not missing a single chance, immediately switched the topic of the interview.
"Someone got you smiling pretty big. Who is it?" She asked in a teasing tone and I blushed, as did George.
"What do you mean? This is a normal smile!" George said in a high-pitched voice, which made me laugh.
The interviewer laughed lightly. "Oh, lying is not a good thing you know?"
George leaned back in his chair, sighing as he ran a hand through his hair. George looked at me and I nodded with a smile.
We were notoriously private about our relationship, people knew he was dating, and people knew I was dating, but they just didn't know we were dating each other, because we liked to keep things more private, doing our dates at home, ordering food instead of going out to eat, that sort of thing.
We had been dating for a few years now and had just put down the downpayment for our very own house, and we were planning on moving in within the next month or so.
And sooner or later we were bound to slip up, so doing this in an interview was probably one of our best options.
George smiled at me. "That's my girl, right there. Y/N Y/L/N. Moto GP driver, she's been in my life since God knows when." He laughed and I smiled at him. "We've been dating for... around four and a half years, right?" He looked at me and I nodded with a laugh, finding it adorable he had turned to me to confirm when just three days ago he had barged into my house at exactly 1.17 a.m. to wish me a 'happy fourth and half' anniversary. I had come close to pushing him off the balcony. "We're actually taking a big step, we're getting our first house together!"
"And how are things going?"
"Oh, terrific. She's the love of my life, my best friend... I really couldn't ask for anything else." He said, a sort of malefic glint in his eye. "I mean, she could admit that Formula 1 is better than Moto GP, but, a lad can't have it all."
"Keep dreaming!" I said with a laugh and George shook his head.
"See? Lovely woman."

George and I had roped some of our friends to help move our stuff into the new house, and all it took was telling them we'd pay for dinner. They really were easy to persuade.
We had just finished moving the last boxes, and I was standing at the front door, on the outside, when George picked me up bridal style and walked inside.
"What was that for?!" I asked with a laugh as our friends clapped.
"Well, it's good luck to carry your girl through the threshold of the house when you finish moving in, so good luck to us my love," George said and I kissed him as he put me down.
"She will need luck," Lewis said with a laugh. "Are you aware George does not pick his socks up from the floor?"
I laughed as I approached them and sat down on the sofa. "Have known for a few years now actually. Most of the socks on the floor of my old apartment were his." I said with a laugh as George hugged me.
"You don't need to be conspiring against me."
"It can't be called conspiring if we're doing it in broad daylight, right in front of you as well," I said with a laugh.
George gave a fake sigh as he let himself fall to our couch, "Oh, but the worst of it all, it's my fair lady who plots for my destruction."
I rolled my eyes at him, laughing lightly.
"You're such a drama queen, Jesus."
"Take that back, you vile woman!"
"Do you want to start your life together in the same house by sleeping on the couch?"
"I really don't."
"Then what did you just call me?"
"You gorgeous maid?"
"That's... better?" I asked as we all laughed, "You went a little further back in time than I'd like."
"Well, but you are a gorgeous maid." George said with a smile, "That's facts!"
