Securing his shades on his face, Sincere quickly swiped his keycard to the law firm he worked at.
He was in such a rush he hadn't noticed he forgot his boss's coffe on the hood of his car. Making his way to the elavator he pushed the number six, it seemed as if the elavator had to stop on each floor. Once the elavator reached his destination Sincere picked up his pace until he reached her office.
Lightly knocking he waited until he heard the okay to enter, "I'm here ma'am." He breathed out once he appeared in her line of vision.
"This is your third time late this week," Cassidy looked up to him, removing her glasses rubbing her temples.
"I know, and I'm so sorry." He dropped his head.
Cassidy sighed, "Where's my coffee? I really need it this moment, this case has me so tired."
At the mention of her coffee Sincere eyes went wide underneath his shades. He mentally cursed himself now remembering that he'd left it on top of his car, it seemed as if his morning was so shitty already. "I might've left it in my car," he mumbled causing Cassidy to stare at him blankly.
"Sincere what's going on?" She asked genuinely. "The last time you were like this, it was because of him."
His body shuddered at the mention of him. "H-huh?"
Cassidy's face softened as she stood up to walk towards him. She gently removed his shades, his black eye confirmed her suspicions for the last week. Sincere had been working for her for a total of two years now and she knew him enough to know that he'd ran back to his abusive ex. He was always late, forgetting things, and a shitty assistant each time Xavier made a appearance into his life which he'd been in and out of for three years. She couldn't understand why someone as sweet and caring as Sincere put up with what he put up with from a man who was on the down low, and took his frustrations out him due to the fact he couldn't handle that he liked men.
"Aw, baby." Cassidy pulled him in for a hug. "Why?" She asked, concerned.
"He's going to change," Sincere mumbled.
"Who are you trying to convince, me or you?"
As he went to respond the door opened and he quickly put his shades back on and separated himself from Cassidy seeing that her husband Shakur and their daughter Kennedy strolled in. Kennedy had her head hung low and arms folded, being that she was in trouble once again. Shakur held his signature mug on his face, as he looked Sincere up and down.
"Hey hunny," Cassidy kissed her husband. "Sincere, can you take Kennedy into your office and make sure she doesn't do anything."
He nodded quickly and exited her office feeling the tension, it was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Kennedy dragged her feet and followed behind him, she handed her mom her phone and Apple Watch before exiting. Once they made it to his office she plopped down and twirled in the chair, knowing that she would be spending the day with Sincere doing absolutely most of his work for her mom as a form of punishment because she had once again been suspended from school. This time she had ten days for fighting.
