“Since you’re so resolute, I won’t hide this from you any longer.” Jaehyun seemed to have come to a difficult decision.
He said with some hesitation, “The truth is, back when Grandmother Jeon decided on your engagement with Jungkook, Grandfather Jeon had opposed her decision. However, he could not persuade her to change her mind. I’m here because I’ve received Grandfather Jeon's instructions to pursue you.”
Lisa appeared composed. She clasped her hands together comfortably. “I expected this.”
“But…” Jaehyun’s expression was especially serious. “I’ve really liked you for a long time. I’ve had feelings for almost the moment Grandfather Jeon instructed me to pursue you. In fact, even when you were ugly… even before you regained your good looks, I had already liked you.”
“Oh?” This took her by some surprise. “Didn’t you say you only liked beautiful women with good figures?”
He harrumphed with some arrogance. “You still had some attractive points.” For example, she actually wasn’t afraid of snakes despite being a girl. Additionally, her aura, her gaze, her singing voice… and many others.
“I don’t need your generosity.” Lisa’s expression was indifferent. In this life, she only needed Jungkook’s love.
“Don’t you understand?” Jaehyun was on the verge of raising his voice. “The only person on your side, Grandmother Jeon, has already passed away. Grandfather Jeon doesn’t support your marriage with Jungkook!”
Lisa searched through her memories. “In fact, Grandfather Jeon's attitude towards this marriage is more neutral than you are claiming. After all, to him, his late wife’s promise is akin to his. I think you’re withholding some of the truth. You must have volunteered to pursue me in a feat of ‘bravery’. Grandfather Jeon must have only agreed to this jokingly.”
Jaehyun’s complexion turned red in humiliation after being seen through. “So what!”
“You’re wasting your time.” Lisa rewarded him with four words.
Jaehyun saw that she appeared unmoved. He grew flustered. “Fine, I was in the wrong for this. But…” He gritted his teeth and decided to share his observations about the Jeon family with her. “Let me tell you, Nancy isn’t a simple woman. I can tell from the way she looks at Jungkook that she is interested in him. Furthermore, that woman hides her schemes especially well. If you marry into the Jeon family, there’s no way you’ll be able to compete against her. Listen to me. If you leave Jungkook, perhaps Nancy will let you off…”
Lisa’s brows lifted in surprise.
She had already known that Nancy hid her intentions very well.
However, she did not expect Jaehyun to warn her about this.
“Thank you.” Thus, she expressed her gratitude to him.
Although Jaehyun was rather rebellious and had a bad temper, in fact, he disdained speaking poorly of others.
The fact that he was telling her this right now meant that he had seen things that he could not share with her.
Jaehyun sighed heavily and glared at her. “It seems like you won’t listen to my advice!”
“I don’t wish to repeat my feelings for Jungkook again.” She instructed a helper. “Pour Young Master Jung some tea.”
“There’s no need. I’m full from my anger against you!” Jaehyun reached for the teacup held by Lisa and drank from it. He tilted his head back and downed it.
“You!” She glared at him.
He waved the cup before and intentionally kissed the cup. “This is called an indirect kiss, do you understand? Let me tell you, I won’t change my mind easily. Since you insist on throwing yourself into a burning pit, I’ll wait for the day you run out of the Jeon family crying. Of course…”
A hint of worry flashed past his eyes. “I hope that you’ll be unharmed when that day comes.”
