"It isn't good for this subordinate to speak on this matter." Whenever there were arguments between his masters, as long as it did not compromise the Jeon family's overall status, it wasn't right for him to express his private opinion.

Jeon Chongshan rubbed his grey beard and appeared to be deep in thought.

Soobinstepped forward and said, "Elder, I believe that this matter is unrelated to Miss Lee. Rather than luck, it is clear that Hao Changsheng was instructed to act in this way."

"How did you appear so quickly earlier?" Jeon Chongshan verbalised his confusion.

Soobindid not hide this from him. "Miss Lee had instructed this subordinate to secretly protect you from any harm."

Jeon Chongshan shifted his questioning gaze onto Lisa. "Little girl, you knew beforehand that I would be in danger?"

"I didn't know." Lisa shook her head. "But just as Huang Zhishu and Nancy said, a lot of 'strange' things have been happening in the Jeon family. I was worried and immediately thought of you first. After all, you're an elder and it isn't good for you to suffer any fright. Thus, I decided to let Soobinpay attention to your safety at all times."

"I think you were just trying to keep an eye on the elder," Nancy mocked.

Lisa wanted to explain, but Jeon Chongshan waved his hand. "Lisa, this little girl, definitely was not trying to do that. If it wasn't for her, perhaps my life would have been lost today."

"What happened?" Jungkook's tall and broad figure approached them.

Butler Mingde stepped forward and reported the incident to him.

Jungkook's sharp and cold gaze swept past Nancy and Huang Zhishu. "The two of you believe that Lisa ruined the Jeon family's luck, is that it?"

The mother and daughter pair that had been chattering on earlier immediately lost their courage after meeting his frigid cold gaze.

"I was just making a conjecture..." Huang Zhishu began with some hesitation.

"A conjecture..." A hint of mocking flashed past Jungkook's eyes. "If you're dissatisfied with Lisa's words or behaviour, feel free to scram out of the Jeon family! This way, the Jeon family's luck would be completely unrelated to you outsiders."

"Jungkook, that wasn't what I meant." Huang Zhishu immediately declared passionately. "No matter what happens to the Jeon family, I'll always be willing to remain in the same boat with the Jeon family and confront the troubles together."

Jungkook appeared to have heard an especially humorous joke. He lifted his brows. "Haven't you spent the past twenty years as leeches of the Jeon family? Sharing the same boat and confronting the same problems? You speak as though the Jeon family is in an extremely poor state."

"That isn't what I meant..." Huang Zhishu wanted to continue explaining. The Jeon family's influence and status was incomparable in this country.

But Jungkook did not have the patience to listen any further. He instructed in a heavy voice. "Take Hao Changsheng's body away. Have a forensic investigator examine his body and clarify the cause of his death."

He then narrowed his eyes coldly. "If this matter is found to be related to anyone, punish them by death!"

Several people were left trembling in fright from his words.

"Understood." Two of the helpers waiting by the side stepped forward to move the body away.

Lisa was unaffected. "Hurry up and find out exactly who was behind this. It would be best if the instigator is dragged forward. We'll dismember them before burying them."

"Miss Lee, you can't push away the blame just by speaking harshly." Nancy did not wish to offend Jungkook and only said, "I believe that Cousin's people will investigate fairly."

"From the moment my uncle, Jeon Pu, brought two outsiders into the Jeon family, the Jeon family was doomed to never know peace." Jungkook rubbed Lisa's cheek. "But there's no need to be afraid.
