613.Change Surnames

Mingyu stood behind the corner at the end of the hallway. As he listened to Grandfather Jeon’s words, he clenched his fists tightly.

Did they deserve to suffer this humiliation simply because they were not of the Jeon family’s bloodline? Frustratingly, despite how poorly Elder Jeon treated them, he could not bring himself to let go of the wealth and glory which the Jeon family gave him.

On the other hand, to Jungkook’s Grandfather and parents, everything Jungkook did was always correct.

He truly hated him!

Nancy lowered her head. Although she felt especially humiliated, she similarly could not bring herself to give up the position and wealth which she enjoyed in the Jeon family.

Although she was the Brushweiler family’s only successor, the Brushweiler family still could not compete with the Jeon family.

Besides, the two statuses did not clash and they both had their own advantages.

Butler Bai Mingde approached them. His wrinkled face was covered in cold sweat as he explained to Jeon Chongshan. “Elder, my apologies. This subordinate twisted his feet by accident earlier and Madam insisted on supporting me. I did not realise that it would cause such a misunderstanding. I trust that Miss Nancy did not intentionally lead Miss Lee to bow towards Madam and this subordinate.”

Initially, this matter was hidden between the lines. However, he stepped forward and clearly put it out in the open.

Nancy’s expression turned poor. “Uncle De, you’ve misunderstood. I really didn’t intend for this to happen.”

Bai Mingde had worked for Elder Jeon for most of his life. He was naturally loyal to a fault and was deeply respected in the Bai family’s old mansion. Thus, everyone had to address him as ‘Uncle De’.

Initially, he had been confused when Madam Huang Zhishu supported him for seemingly no reason.

Although he had a poor impression of Lisa at first, he now felt that it was the elder son’s family that had grown impatient from concealing their schemes for so many years. They were finally showing their true colours.

In the past, Lisa was on poor terms with everyone from the old mansion. She had also assumed that Butler Mingde was on Huang Zhishu’s family’s side. However, after observing the situation clearly, she realised that this was not the case.

In fact, Butler De noticed immediately that he had been used.

“Alright. I’ve already said everything that I need to say.” Jeon Chongshan’s insightly gaze scanned Huang Zhishu and Nancy for a moment. “There’s no need to explain further. Remember your boundaries.”

“I understand.” Nancy and Huang Zhishu responded obediently.

Lisa suddenly felt very pleased.

In the past, she did not pay good attention to Nancy’s position in the Jeon family and assumed that they had always doted on her. In contrast, she thought herself to be a proper outsider.

However, it seemed like that was not the case.

She stood on her tiptoes and whispered into Jungkook’s ears. “Your grandfather and your parents are quite cute.”

A hint of a smile appeared on Jungkook’s face. “I’m glad that you like them.”

In fact, he understood his grandfather and parents’ thoughts very well.

The Jeon family’s business was enormous and its influence was overwhelming. As a result, it was inevitable that they had to deal with countless enemies outside.

They did not wish for there to be trouble at home as well.

However, his Uncle Jeon Pu had refused to take their advice. Although the Jeon family had a successor, he insisted on adopting Mingyu and Nancy.

Of course, he was uninterested in what the two of them had been named prior to their adoption. After they entered the Jeon family, their surnames were changed to ‘Jeon’.
