13 - Need To Help

I had been home from the hospital for a couple of days and Frank was struggling with going back to work.

"You can go. I can get around...well enough." I said and Frank sighed.

"And Mary?" Frank asked.

"Take her to the daycare. They will take great care of her." I said and he shook his head.

"I only liked the daycare when you were there to watch her. Call me crazy but I don't want to leave her somewhere I don't know everyone." Frank explained and I groaned.

"Well Frank, I'm on crutches. I can't carry her unless I put her in a backpack and put her on my back."

"You can't carry anything too heavy anyway..." Frank said and I groaned.

"Then what do we do Frank? You need to go work." I said and he sighed.

"I will work on it okay. Maybe the neighbor can take her for a little bit. She has been wanting to help out. And Evelyn..."

"Is the devil and will not touch a hair on Mary's head." I said and Frank sighed.

"Okay."

"Also I have Janie coming over later, she works with me at the daycare. She is going to help me shower so she can watch Mary for a little if the neighbor cant." I said. Frank was about to say something when there was a knock on the door and Frank smiled seeing our neighbor standing there with a casserole dish and she smiled.

"Hey Frank, is she awake?" She asked and Frank nodded letting her in and she saw me on the couch.

"Vee, you look so good." She said and I smiled.

"Misses McClusky would you be able to stay and watch Mary and help out with Vienna while I go work?" Frank asked and she smiled with a nod.

"I wouldn't mind at all. Let me just go put this is the fridge." Misses McClusky said and walked into the kitchen. Frank came over to me.

"Go, I'll be fine. I might be taking some pain killers soon anyway." I said and he smiled. He kissed my forehead.

"You need anything you get her to help you and let her take care of Mary." Frank said and I nodded.

"I will, stop worrying." I said and he sighed.

"I will always worry." Frank said and he headed to the door. He gave me one last small smile and left.

"You two are a beautiful couple." Misses McClusky said and I shook my head.

"Just friends." I said.

"Should be a couple." She said as Mary said crying from her room so Misses McClusky went to get Mary.

I was lying in bed later that evening reading a book when I heard the front door open and I got excited thinking it was Janie. She was late but I was ready to shower and I just needed help. My bedroom door opened and I saw Frank and sighed.

"Hey." I said.

"Hey, sorry if I wasn't who you wanted to see." Frank said seeing my annoyed face and I laughed as he came and sat on the edge of the bed.

"No, it's not that Frank. It's just Janie never made it over to help me shower and I feel gross. I need to shower." I said and Frank groaned.

"You're fine Vee."

"Frank...I smell like a mix of hospital and trash. I need a shower." I said and he groaned.

"Let me see if Misses McClusky can come back..." Frank trailed off.

"Forget it. I will go myself." I said and grabbed my crutches and started out of my bedroom. Once I reached the bathroom and opened the door Frank came in behind me.

"I will help you." Frank said apprehensively.

"Well thanks for the enthusiasm..."

"Vee, no offense but I didn't want to see you naked."

"EXCUSE ME?!"

"God I didn't mean it like that. I'm just saying...I don't know what I'm saying. Let's just get this over with please..." Frank said and I nodded.

"Okay so why don't you fill the tub up for me. It's going to be easier to take a bath. You can put bubbles in it so thing are covered." I said and Frank sighed but nodded and started running the water as I leaned on the sink and started to get undressed. Frank turned around and saw me in my bra and panties.

"Warn me Vee!" Frank said and I sighed. Frank turned back around to check the water. Once it was full I started to get fully undressed and Frank was looking everywhere but at me.

"Frank..." I said reached out my hands for him since I needed to use him to get in the tub. He closed his eyes tightly as I hopped. "Don't close your eyes Frank! You need to watch me!" I said annoyed and he groaned. He opened them but barely looked at me as I got in the tub. I made sure I got under the water and covered myself up with bubbles.

"Okay, what else do you need?" Frank asked and I shook my head.

"I can figure it out. It's fine." I said and he shook his head.

"I've gone this far Vee, what else do you need?" Frank asked.

"My shoulder is still messed up from the accident and crutches. Do you think you would wash my hair?" I asked and he nodded. He grabbed the small stool from the sink and sat behind me in the tub after he grabbed the shower head to get my hair wet. He started washing my hair and gave me a head massage. "That feels amazing." I moaned. Frank smiled down at me and she started to rinse my hair after a few minutes. Once he was done he stood up and smiled at me.

"Need anything else?" Frank asked and I shook my head.

"I'll call for you when I'm done." I said and Frank left the bathroom. Once he was gone and groaned and ran a hand over my face. Why did I insist he help me? That crossed so many lines. I should have had him get Misses McClusky back. I quickly washed up and once I was done I went to get out myself and struggled. I would not get Frank, I could go this...I wasn't an invalid. As I was struggling and grunting the door opened and I saw Frank standing there.

"Need help?" Frank asked and I groaned.

"You don't want to see me naked and you are going to see everything lifting me from the tub." I said and Frank shook his head.

"I will look at the ceiling helping you out and then wrap you in your towel. You ready?" Frank asked and I nodded. I started to get up and he looked at the ceiling as I stood he then reached for the towel and opened it. I wrapped myself in it as he lifted me from the tub. I wrapped my arms around his neck. I looked as frank as he scooped my legs and started to carry me from the bathroom.

"Frank..." I said and looked at him.

"You weren't going to walk with wet feet on crutches. I will just take you to your room. I have shorts and a tank top set out on your bed for you." Frank said and I smiled at him. I kissed his cheek as we walked to my room. Once in my room he sat me on my bed and I smiled at him.

"Thank you. I will make sure Janie comes over next time." I said and Frank shook his head.

"I need to help you Vee, I don't mind. I know it might be uncomfortable but I need to help you out more." Frank said and I smiled. He leaned down and kissed my cheek and then walked out of the room shutting the door. I placed my head in my hands...what was happening? Why when Frank was carrying me I was praying he was taking me to his room, to lay with him...to be with him...
