I walked into the house with Mary around 5:45 and Frank was already home setting up the food.
"Hey, you got home early." I said and he nodded.
"Yeah, last class let out early so I figured I would come home and get everything ready." Frank said and I smiled at him.
"How was your first day back teaching?" I asked and he shrugged.
"College kids, thinking they know everything. Same crap, different year." Frank said and I chuckled. Frank then looked at Mary.
"How was your first day?" Frank asked Mary and she smiled.
"I loved it! I love my teacher and I even have like 2 new best friends!" Mary said excitedly and I smiled as did Frank. "Can we watch a movie?" Mary asked and Frank looked at me and I shrugged.
"Sounds like a good idea." I said and Frank nodded.
"Uh, I forgot drinks." Frank said and I went to head into the kitchen.
"I'll get them." I said and walked to get he soda's from the fridge. As I went to open a can to pour it in to a cup it exploded all over me.
"Fuck!" I yelled and Frank came rushing in with Mary behind him.
"You okay?" Frank asked and I turned so he could see me soaking wet. He tried to hide his laugh.
"It's not funny!" I said trying not to laugh.
"Come with me. Mary go sit in the living room and wait." Frank said and I followed Frank to his room.
"What are we doing in here?" I asked.
"I'm giving you some clothes, so you don't sit in wet clothes. Change and I will go pour the drinks." Frank said and handed me a t-shirt and a pair of sweatpants. Frank went to leave the room.
"Thank you, Frank." I said as smiled at me but walked out. I got out of my wet clothes and grabbed the shirt of Franks. I put it on and then lifted it to my nose and smelled it. I missed the smell of Frank's musk and cologne. I sighed as I grabbed the sweatpants to put on and then walked out of the bedroom. I took my clothes down to the laundry room and put them in the washer. I walked back out to the living room and saw everything was set up and ready for movie night. Once I sat down on the other side of Mary, we started the movie.

***FRANK POV***
The movie was over and while the end credits started to roll, I looked and saw Mary cuddled into Vee's side and both of them were asleep. I smiled seeing this scene. This is how it could have always been. These two were my world and I let Vee walk out of my world years ago. She wanted marriage and kids, she had every right to want a life with me, but I panicked. I had seen marriage go horribly wrong with Evelyn and my father. I was scared it was going to be the same thing. In reality I had wanted to be with Vee, I wanted a life with her, but I didn't think I could get that back now, it was too late. We both moved on in our lives. She left working at the daycare and was now a florist, something she always wanted to be. I got up and cleaned up the mess from dinner while the girls slept.
I walked back out to the living room and sighed, I knew I had to get Mary to bed. I easily peeled her from Vee and picked her up to carry her to her room. I got her changed while she was asleep and put her to bed. She was such a heavy sleeper it was crazy. I walked back out to the living room and saw Vee fast asleep. I didn't want to wake her, but I also didn't want her to be on the uncomfortable couch. I walked over to her and gently wrapped her arms around my neck, picked her up bridal style and moved her to my bed since it was the only bed left. When she moved out, she took her bed, so the spare room was empty.
I laid her gently in bed and covered her up. I moved the hair from her face that had fallen and sighed. She looked so peaceful when she was sleeping, and I missed seeing this face every night when I would come home and every morning when I woke up. I left the room and went to the laundry room to put her stuff in the dryer so she would have clothes for the morning. I walked back into the bedroom and got down to my boxers. I crawled into bed easily beside Vee. As I finished getting comfortable in the bed Vee rolled over and cuddled into me placed her head on my chest and draped her arm across me. I sighed and wrapped my arm around her and held her to me. This is where we both needed to be. I think in the morning we needed to have a talk once Mary went to school.

***VEE POV***
I woke up the next morning and tried to figure out where I was. My back was to someone who had their arm draped over me. Once my eyes focused, I realized I was in Franks room, in his bed and I sighed. Why was I still here? I then thought about it and realized I fell asleep during the movie last night. I easily moved Frank's arm and got out of bed not wanting to wake him up.
Once I was out of bed, I went down the hall and checked on Mary, she was still asleep and had a little bit of time before she had to get up and get ready for school. I walked into her room and kissed her cheek. She slightly stirred and rolled over as I did. I left her room and went to the laundry room. I grabbed my clothes from the dryer, thanks Frank, and I got changed. Once I got changed, I folded up the clothes I slept in and took them with me, I wanted these, I needed to keep these for my own sanity. I walked into the living room and found a notepad. I sat down and wrote Frank a note. Once the note was done, I placed it on the fridge with a magnet. I quickly and quietly left the house and sighed once I got to my car.
Why was I running? Was I running to save face because all I wanted was Frank and I back together but yet here we were separate but sharing a bed with him all night and waking up to him this morning was all too real? It was all I wanted years ago, and I couldn't get it but now after one night I had it back? No...I couldn't do this, not right now. I started up my car and drove away.
***FRANK POV***
I woke up and rolled over to say good morning to Vee and she was gone. I sighed thinking she was getting Mary up so I walked down the hall and no Vee. I sighed though seeing Mary sleeping.
"Mary, time to get up for school." I said and she sat up while grumbling. I smiled and walked into the kitchen to start the coffee and that was when I saw the note. I pulled it from the fridge.

Thank you for putting me in your bed last night and letting me stay. I didn't know I would fall asleep during the movie so thank you.
Also, thank you for putting my clothes in the dryer. I do feel it's only right to tell you though even though I changed, I'm taking the t-shirt and sweatpants with me. I hope you don't mind, they were super comfy.
Sorry I ran, I didn't know how to feel this morning. I knew how I was feeling but I know it's not how you are feeling so I was just protecting myself.
Give Mary and hug and kiss for me and tell her I will see her on Friday when I get her from school as per the schedule.

I sighed and sat at the table. She didn't know how I felt, and I knew I couldn't tell her now. She would never believe it was real and think I was just conforming to how she felt. This was going to get very complicated, very fast if I didn't try and fix it soon.
