I couldn't stop yelling. It was a rage that was infested inside of me. I wanted to run and scream and never ever remember this ever happening.

Toby's dad pushed me back down. "Look your dad did deserve justice but not death. He's going to have a trial."

Angered by my dad only having a trial, I looked away. "But you shot my son." I blinked, surprised by this. He was shaking. "I would never shoot Toby!" I exclaimed, to surprised to be angry.

He sighed, trying to get ahold of himself. "If you still don't remember I'll fill you in. We heard cries and then gunfire. When I went inside you were all lying on the floor. The gun was in your hands."

He sounded like he was about to cry. "I DID NOT KILL TOBY! I NEVER WOULD THIS IS TOTAL AND UTTER BULLSHIT!" I exclaimed, angry again. I really liked Toby! His could they say this! My dad planted that gun in my hands!

He rounded on me, finally letting go of his untethered anger. "Then explain why the weapon was found in your hands!? How you, for some magical reason, can't remember a thing?! All evidence points to you!" Tears came to my eyes.

"But I love Toby! I would never hurt him." Toby's dad shook his head. "You are going to have a trial with your dad." His voice strong and averting. Maybe even with a touch of disgust. He was disgusted by my family!

Fuck! I turned around. "Fine. Then you'll see I am telling the truth." He turned to go. "Oh and you can ask Toby! I saved him from my dad shooting him." He gave me a look of disbelief that made me want to pound his head in.

Toby's dad walked out.

...

Then I cried.

I burst out sobbing.

Because my life was ruined and nobody cared. Nobody except Toby but he was hurt right now! I didn't feel in control at all.

Toby's POV:

I woke up slowly. I could hear someone crying. Pain shot up my arm every few seconds. I groaned an sat up. I heard a gasp. "Toby!"

Hope was sitting in a bed next to me. I smiled. "Hope!" Then I saw her red eyes. "Have you been crying?" She wiped away her tears. "Of course not." She looked away, why was she lying? I didn't care if she had been.

"You can tell me?!" She took a shaky breath. "Okay. Your dad thinks I shot you and I'm going to have a trial with my dad." I gasped.

"Hope that's terrible! I'll talk some sense into him! Don't you worry! Everything will be alright." I wanted to hug her but wasn't feeling up to it yet.

She nodded and gave a watery smile. "Thanks lion!" I smiled encouragingly back. "Welcome Kitty!"
