Site Hotel Gamma, Juniors...

Junior's bar was in chaos as CIA operatives rushed around, bringing in ammunition for the turrets and confirming the imminent attack.

One agent turned to another with a concerned expression. "Have you confirmed the attack through the comms?"

"The White Fang is putting their plan into action right now. The virus implanted in the autonomous drones protecting the festival will give her control over some of them," the other agent responded urgently.

"Who the hell is infiltrating the tournament?" the first agent demanded.

"We still have no update on that, but we estimate that Atlas will lose to the large number of drones it employs. We're not expecting to be able to flush the virus out in time, so the only option is to intervene or not at all."

The first agent hesitated before saying, "Call Silver Thorn and request confirmation."

As the chaos continued around them, the CIA operatives braced themselves for what could be a catastrophic attack.

"Before I forget, what about the ship that one of our subs saved?"

"If you're asking if we can suppress the spread of information, then no. Too many have already seen the sub."

"Understood," the agent replied. "But we can still contain the situation. We've already intercepted and erased any footage or data that could reveal the sub's location or our involvement."

"Like that's gonna get rid of the eye witness accounts... Keep monitoring the situation and report any developments immediately," the other agent instructed.

"Will do. And what about the infiltrator? Should we continue with our plan to intervene?"

The first agent hesitated for a moment before responding. "We need to confirm Silver Thorn's intel first. We can't risk exposing ourselves without being certain of our target."

"Agreed. Keep me updated."

"Fucking child soldiers!!!" The agent thought.

The two agents quickly parted ways, each returning to their respective tasks in preparation for the imminent attack. Time was running out, and the fate of the tournament - and perhaps even the world - hung in the balance.

Vytal Festival...

Silver Thorn...

As Ruby hugged her mother, Yang walked up to them, and Summer could feel her eyes on her. Ruby eventually released her from the embrace, and Yang enveloped her in a hug. "Hey, Mom," Yang said softly.

"Hey, Yang," Summer replied, returning the hug. She could feel the tears prickling at the corners of her eyes as she held her daughters close.

"It's me," Summer confirmed, smiling through her tears. "I know it's been a long time."

Yang pulled back slightly from the hug, looking up at her mother with a mix of joy and sadness in her eyes. "We thought you were gone forever," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Summer nodded, her smile fading slightly. "I know. I'm sorry. I never wanted to leave you and Ruby."

Ruby, who had been standing off to the side, watching the reunion with tears in her eyes, stepped forward. "Mom, where have you been? Why didn't return?"

Summer took a deep breath, steeling herself for the difficult conversation ahead. "It's a long story," she began, "but I'll tell you everything."

And so, Summer told her daughters the story of how she was supposed to be sent on a secret mission by the one and only Ozpin, how she had disappeared without a trace, and how she had been presumed dead for so many years. She told them about her time in the shadows, gathering information and fighting against the forces of evil that threatened to tear apart the fragile peace of Remnant. She also told them about the ones she worked for and how they sheltered her for a few years.
