What may be Ahead

Yoda and Anakin sit in a darkened Yoda's room, deep in thought.

Yoda: Premonitions... premonitions... Hmm... these visions you have ...

Anakin: They are of pain, suffering, death .

Yoda: Yourself you speak of, or someone you know?

Anakin: Someone...

Yoda: ...close to you?

Anakin: ...Yes.

Yoda: Careful you must be when sensing the future, Anakin. The fear of loss is a path to the dark side.

Anakin: I won't let these visions come true, Master Yoda.

Yoda: Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them, do not. Miss them, do not. Attachment leads to jealousy. The shadow of greed, that is.

Anakin: What must I do, Master Yoda?

Yoda: Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose.

The door to Yoda's chambers zip open and the form of Y/N enters. He sees the two conversing and pauses.

Y/N: Master Yoda, is this a bad time? Because I can come back later.

Yoda: No, no. Leaving, Skywalker was, yes?

Anakin nods his head and gets up to leave, bumping into Y/N hard by the shoulder. Y/N looks back at his brother's retreating form before turning back to Yoda.

The green man patted the cushion next to him and Y/N proceeded to sit down next to the Jedi Master.

Y/N: Why was Anakin in here? He seems pissed off.

Yoda: Fears, he has. Of losing those close to him. Worried, he is. Turn to the dark, I fear he may.

Y/N: Anakin? Turning to the dark? I'll have to monitor the situation but I haven't felt anything in him.

Yoda: Worried about something, I sense you are.

Y/N: Me? Nah. I'm fine.

Yoda: Then what purpose are you here for, Master L/N.

Y/N: Right. Master Yoda. I understand that I have value to the council, but the last few months have taken a lot out of me. I was wondering if you would grant me rest for a few days before sending me off on another mission.

Yoda: Rest, I will grant you. Later though, it will start. For now, await a summon by the council. There are matters we must discuss.

Y/N: Thank you, Master.

He nods and leaves the room.

Anakin hurries down a temple hallway, heading toward a Jedi Briefing Room. Several Jedi are exiting.

He rushes into the room. By the time he reaches the Chamber, the last of the Jedi are leaving. Only Obi-Wan remains at the front of the lecture hall. He is shutting off some holograms and electronic charts and maps.

Obi-Wan: You missed the report on the Outer Rim sieges.

Anakin: I'm sorry, I was held up. I have no excuse.

Obi-Wan: In short, they are going very well. Saleucami has fallen, and Master Vos has moved his troops to Boz Pity.

Anakin: What's wrong then?

Obi-Wan: The Senate is expected to vote more executive powers to the Chancellor today.

Anakin: Well, that can only mean less deliberating and more action. Is that bad? It will make it easier for us to end this war.
