A parent's love for their child is unmatched, and their child's safety is paramount to their future. Despite being a 36-year-old woman, she remained his beloved princess. He desired nothing but the absolute best for his daughter.

"Princess?" His voice came from behind Jennie. Jisoo felt her heart skip a beat and fought to control her emotions before responding. Jennie moved aside, allowing Jisoo to finally lay eyes on her father.

A tall elderly man, leaning on a polished wooden cane, strolled into the kitchen with a joyous expression upon seeing her. Jisoo returned her father's happy gaze and approached him with a gentle smile.

"Daddy! What a pleasant surprise!" She exclaimed, locking eyes with him. His face lit up at her words, beckoning her to draw nearer. Jisoo complied, enveloping him in a warm hug. He held her tightly, his eyes closing in contentment. Jennie observed from the sidelines, a soft smile tugging at her lips.

"I missed you so much, my princess! Why have you been avoiding me for such a long time? It's been six months since we last saw each other, and you only call to check up on me!" He exclaimed, gazing into her eyes as he took a step back. Jisoo nervously nibbled on her bottom lip, giving her father a guilty look.

"I'm sorry, Daddy! Work has been overwhelming lately, you know how demanding running a business can be!" She explained, attempting to justify her absence. The old man furrowed his brow and gently touched her cheek.

"You seem sad... and tired! I don't think you're looking after yourself properly, my princess. Is everything okay?" He inquired with concern. Jisoo was taken aback by her father's keen observation of her recent demeanor.

"Oh... I'm fine, honestly! Just swamped with work!" She replied quickly. The old man sighed and gave her a meaningful look.

"I hope you're being honest with me. On a different note, I'd like to invite you for lunch today! I really want to have a heart-to-heart talk with you and enjoy some quality family time together," he expressed, placing a hand on her shoulder. Jisoo took a deep breath and stepped back slightly, feeling the anxiety beginning to creep in.

"Daddy... I'm not sure... I still have a few orders to fulfill and-" she started but was interrupted by Jennie.

"Oh, that's no issue at all. I can handle things here. You just finished the special cakes that were requested specifically from you! So, you're all clear to spend time with Dad!" Jennie interjected loudly. Jisoo felt a wave of anger coursing through her as she realized how Jennie had inadvertently sided with her father.

"Marvelous. Come on, let's go!" He muttered, pulling Jisoo along with him.

"Daddy, wait..." Jisoo protested as she struggled to remove her apron. Once she was free, she grabbed her bag and hurried to her father's car.

After a fifteen-minute drive, they arrived at the restaurant. Jisoo and her father were seated with the help of the restaurant's hostess. Her father was clearly delighted to be spending time with his beloved daughter, a sentiment evident in the sparkle of his eyes.

However, Jisoo's demeanor was quite different. Her eyes darted around the restaurant, her legs fidgeting nervously.

"Princess?" He spoke, noticing her distracted state. Jisoo snapped out of her thoughts and refocused her attention on him.

"Yes?" She responded, her voice tinged with confusion.

"You haven't touched your food... is everything okay with it?" He inquired. Jisoo glanced down at her plate, shaking her head slowly in response.

"No, everything's fine," she murmured, tilting her head to meet her father's gaze. She forced a smile and speared a piece of potato with her fork, starting to eat absentmindedly. After the meal, a sense of impending conversation hung in the air. Jisoo had a feeling that her father had something on his mind, a notion she couldn't shake as she knew him like the back of her hand.
