He found his mind cluttered with a jumble of thoughts, the same ones that had plagued him for days on end. Impatience and anxiety gnawed at him, casting a shadow over his every move. The bitter taste of bad luck lingered on his tongue, a constant reminder of his perceived misfortune. The love of his life seemed like a distant dream, one he was on the brink of abandoning once again.

Haein stood before the mirror, already dressed for work, but his reflection revealed more than just a man ready for the day ahead. His eyes, filled with despair, seemed to mirror the turmoil within his soul.

"I just need one opportunity to be with the woman I love," he whispered to his reflection in the mirror. Lost in his own thoughts, he continued to gaze at himself, searching for a sign or a solution.

Suddenly, a different version of himself seemed to materialize in the mirror, a reflection of his deepest fears.

The figure with Haein's own face stared back at him, accusingly. "How dare you plead for such a thing, you are a murderer?" His heart clenched at the words, feeling a sharp pang in his chest. It was as if his own inner voice was speaking to him, forcing him to confront the truth of his actions.

"You do not deserve to be with her, you killed her husband!" The accusing voice echoed in Haein's mind, tormenting him. He clutched his head in desperation, sweat beading on his forehead as anxiety consumed him.

"NOOOOO! NOOO!" Haein screamed in anguish, stumbling backwards in terror. The door to his room swung open with a creak, revealing his mother's concerned expression as she peered inside, her eyes filled with worry.

"What's wrong with you?" His mother's voice cut through the chaos, her concern evident in her tone. Haein struggled to calm his racing heart, his breaths coming in erratic gasps.

"N-no... nothing!" he managed to stammer, his hands trembling uncontrollably. Mihee's gaze bore into him, her maternal instincts sensing something amiss as she observed her son closely.

"You're clearly having a panic attack! When did you start getting them again?" Mihee's voice was firm, her eyes filled with concern as she approached her son. Haein sighed heavily, attempting to steady his trembling hand as he tried to regain control.

"Now you're worried? Save the act of being a concerned mother for another day!" Haein snapped, his frustration evident as he stormed out of the room. Mihee let out a soft sigh and hurried after him.

"I am still waiting for an answer!" Mihee's voice was firm as she confronted Haein, stopping near the kitchen table where he stood. Haein took a deep breath and retrieved two pills from their container, swallowing them with a gulp of water in an attempt to ease the anxiety coursing through his body. Mihee's eyes narrowed as she noticed the small bottle in his hand, and she quickly reached out and snatched it away from him.

"250 pills and it's almost empty!" Mihee exclaimed, her voice filled with shock and concern as she shook the nearly depleted container, realizing that Haein had been abusing the tranquilizers.

"You shouldn't be taking this much... it's bad for your health," she implored, her eyes reflecting her worry for her son's well-being. Haein scoffed at his mother, his eyes clouded with deep sorrow and pain.

"When have you ever cared about my happiness or well-being? When have you been a proper mother? All you have done is break me little by little over the years!" Haein's voice cracked with emotion as he unleashed years of pent-up frustration at his mother.

"First, you told Baek Hyeon that I was dating his daughter in high school, which ended up separating us! Then, when I planned to run away with her, you betrayed me again by telling Baek Hyeon, making it impossible for me to ever contact her again!" Haein's words were filled with pain and bitterness as he laid bare the wounds inflicted by his mother's actions.
