Deception, a swift method to acquire small gains and forfeit significant losses. Love, a captivating illusion that ultimately deceives one party. As soon as she laid eyes on Haein with another woman, sorrow etched itself onto her face. Witnessing their closeness brought about a wave of disillusionment. Love, it seemed, was born from illusion and nurtured by disappointment.

At the opposite end of the hallway, a man stood frozen in shock, his attention completely captured by the figure just a few meters away. His eyes widened in alarm, mirroring the startled expression on her face. For days, he had neglected her, leaving her hanging, lonely, and unanswered. Now, the situation appeared to be far worse than he had anticipated, bringing an end he had not wished for.

Paralyzed by the sight of her expression hardening, he felt his own heart racing with each passing second. Shin Hye, on the other hand, relished the moment she had longed for. Finally, she would confront this woman and set the record straight. As she moved to step forward, Haein acted swiftly, grabbing her forearm without hesitation.

"Don't! Don't you dare!" he whispered in a low tone, turning his head slightly to meet her unaffected gaze. Shin Hye's anger surged through her as she heard Haein's hushed and tense voice. She grimaced slightly as she felt his grip on her tightening.

"What's wrong? Don't want me to reveal our engagement to her?" she exclaimed loudly, ensuring only Jisoo could hear. Jisoo's eyes reflected a mix of shock and resignation as her past suspicions seemed to be confirmed - he had likely agreed to marry this woman. She struggled to accept the painful truth, pressing her lips tightly together in an effort to contain the ache in her heart.

"Jisoo," Haein mumbled with hurt in his eyes, observing her pained expression. The next moment, he watched her vanish into the distance. Seokjoon was taken aback by his brother's motionless stance, noticing his lack of motivation to go after Jisoo.

"What's gotten into you? Go after her!" Seokjoon exclaimed loudly at his stunned brother. However, Haein did the opposite. He lowered his head, his gaze fixed on the white marble floor. His expression crumpled like a used handkerchief, his spirit turning gray.

"I have work to do!" Haein retorted firmly, without glancing back at either of them, before retreating to his office. Seokjoon was left bewildered by the turn of events, struggling to believe what he had just witnessed. Shin Hye, too, was taken aback by Haein's behavior, sensing deep down that it was an unspoken confirmation of his intention to proceed with the marriage.

"See you soon, brother-in-law!" she chirped, a wide grin adorning her face as she sauntered past him. Seokjoon stood alone, his mind muddled with confusion. It was clear that Haein had picked Shin Hye over Jisoo, indicating a significant development. It seemed inevitable that she would soon become a part of the family.

"Haein!! HAEIN!!!...OPEN UP!" Seokjoon called out in a determined voice, pounding his fist against Haein's locked office door. Despite his efforts, the door remained shut, leaving him unable to reach his brother.
