Jisoo found it incredibly difficult to wait and hope, especially since she had been doing so for what felt like an eternity. The waiting itself was excruciating, and the hope she clung to was becoming harder to maintain. The agony of not knowing what action to take was the most unbearable of all.

Her efforts to reach out to him had been in vain. From trying to connect with him at the company to waiting for him outside the building, every attempt had been met with disappointment. The constant rejection and lack of response were taking a toll on her, leaving her feeling drained and disheartened by his sudden disinterest.

"Is he truly ghosting me? Ignoring me all this time?" Jisoo whispered to herself, her gaze fixed in the distance. Despite being at work in the bakery, her thoughts were consumed by the unanswered questions about his behavior. Today, like the days before, she found it impossible to focus on anything else.

"Miss Kim, do you need any help?" Lisa inquired as she approached Jisoo's work station. Startled, Jisoo swiftly turned her head towards Lisa.

"No... Yes! Please look after the bakery while I'm away... I... I have to go somewhere!" Jisoo stammered, hastily removing her apron. Without a moment's delay, she snatched her purse and hurried to her car, driving swiftly back to his company once more.

Determined, Jisoo pressed harder on the accelerator, her mind racing with questions. "I will find out what's going on! Why are you avoiding me?" she thought, her urgency propelling her to reach him as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, inside his office, Haein was preoccupied, not with work, but with resolving matters with Shin Hye. She sat on his couch, waiting for the confirmation she knew was coming. The way he was behaving hinted at a newfound need for her after his past actions.

"Thank you for coming. I'm sure you can see that I'm not in a good place right now," Haein began, but his words were abruptly interrupted by Shin Hye's light laughter, followed by her reaching out to touch his leg.

"I understand. You've been facing challenges with the K-Group for some time now. It's only natural for you to feel stressed and frustrated. If there's anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to let me know," she whispered softly as she gently stroked his leg. Haein managed a small smile, but the desolate expression in his eyes spoke volumes about his inner turmoil.

"Shin Hye, I... I'm sorry... for everything," Haein confessed, avoiding direct eye contact. Shin Hye felt a sense of satisfaction, convinced that Haein was about to propose to her once more. Without hesitation, she gently lifted his face, compelling him to meet her gaze.

"No need to apologize. I understand that your heart belongs to someone else, and I can't compete with that. I simply want to be a friend who will stand by you and offer unwavering support through all challenges," she whispered tenderly, her hand caressing his cheek and chin.
