The most painful aspect of losing a friend is the inability to truly express that loss to them. When a friendship that once held great significance fades away, it often feels more devastating than ending a romantic relationship. It's as if a piece of your own identity slips away with that connection.

Haein locked eyes with Siwon, searching for understanding in the depths of his pained gaze, which revealed a mix of bitterness and resentment. He had never quite grasped why Siwon had treated him the way he did since their childhood. They had once shared a bond that felt unbreakable, but everything shattered the moment they both realized they were in love with the same girl. She was someone who meant the world to them, a true angel who had descended from the heavens.

"Siwon, I've always sensed a deep-seated animosity from you, and I could never comprehend why you couldn't just be happy for us! Expecting someone to return your feelings isn't exactly a brilliant strategy!" Haein said, maintaining steady eye contact while his expression remained filled with compassion for the man he once called his close friend. Siwon responded with a sharp, bitter laugh that echoed in the air, a stark contrast to Haein's calm demeanor.

"And there it is... that superiority complex that always churned my stomach! What makes you think I was forcing her to love me when she clearly did? We both knew she cared for us equally! You've always acted like you were above me, dismissing everything I said as nonsense, just like you're doing now! Your words never quite made sense because your interpretation is so different from mine. You claim I was pressuring her? Well, I could just as easily say you were manipulating her into loving you!"

"You always made her feel guilty and burdened by your so-called family problems! You treated her like she was responsible for fixing you, even when it meant enduring punishment from her own parents. It infuriated me how you made her feel obligated to take care of you! She never found any peace, always on edge when you skipped school or returned home battered from your struggles with heroin!"

"SHE WAS ESSENTIALLY A SLAVE TO YOUR DAMN CHAOS! I was exhausted watching her dedicate all her time to you; she couldn't even have a normal life while you were dragging her down! You had your own tangled mess, and without even realizing it, she felt it was her responsibility to fix you!" Siwon spat, his piercing gaze cutting through Haein like a knife. Haein pressed his lips into a thin line, memories of that dark chapter flooding back, weighing heavily on his heart.

"Now you're quiet? Because deep down, you know her life would have been so much better if she had chosen me over you! She had a soft spot for you because you were struggling, while I was managing just fine on my own. Even though it drove me crazy with jealousy to see how much time she devoted to trying to 'fix' you!" Siwon said, his hands clenching into fists as old, angry memories resurfaced.

"Siwon... even if that were true, I never forced her to be with me! She chose to stay with me because she wanted to, because she loved me! That's what real love is—being there for each other, no matter the circumstances! I never manipulated her like you did after her accident. You seized the moment the first chance you got to take my place!"

"I should have realized you were never truly my friend... you were just waiting for the chance to be me! You wanted everything I had, and that included Jisoo the moment I confessed my feelings for her! Siwon, you never saw her as anything more until that moment between us! You were just determined to prove you could outdo me in some way. It was always about competition, and I only recognized it when it was far too late! All those times I begged you to read the letters I wrote for her when you went to her house for work, you were really deceiving her and turning her into your puppet!"

"NOT ONCE DID YOU HELP ME REACH OUT TO HER! I was desperate while you reveled in my misery! And just a day after she rejected my brother's proposal, you whisked her away! You vanished with her for years and only resurfaced when she married you and had your child. So don't you dare accuse me of manipulating her when you did exactly what you're blaming me for! The only difference is that she has always loved me, not you!" Haein declared, his eyes dark and filled with the weight of all those years of heartache for the woman he adored. Siwon's eyes narrowed in fury, his muscles tensing at Haein's piercing words.
