Hello everyone!

I hope you are all doing well.

Here is a new chapter.

Enjoy!

Ethan:

I would never get used to dressing-downs from my Dad. The one we just had both Hunter and I left nothing to be desired. Father made sure he let us know his opinion about our conduct of late.

I looked at Hunter and asked. "Are you ready to face the music?"

"We just had a lengthy discussion with Father where he made sure to chew us thoroughly."

I rolled my eyes and said. "You mean he chewed me? I was the one supposed to hold the camp together until he is back, but I failed miserably."

"Don't be hard on yourself. We both underestimated Anna and Lillian's abilities. They pulled the rug from under us. What do you plan to do with them?" Hunter asked.

I knew he was nervous about his girlfriend's fate, and I decided to make him at ease. "Don't worry, I won't even mention their stunt. Lillian's reaction is predictable. To be honest, it was our fault for keeping her a prisoner instead of helping her in those hard times."

"You are correct. We were keeping a lioness in a cage and expected her to sit and wait." Hunter agreed.

"Anyway, we will visit and make sure we gave her all the support she needs. We won't mention the incident or her escape."

Hunter nodded his head and looked out the window. Suddenly, he started laughing out loud, and I looked up from my phone to see the source of his amusement.

"The women in our lives cause chaos and we pay the price." Hunter elaborated.

"You know Father is angry about the stunt we pulled in the camp. He hates us displaying our conflict in public. He won't show us any leniency today. Be ready to get your ass kicked."

Hunter didn't say anything else until we reached the hospital, and we both exited the car.

Press as usual didn't give us room to breathe, and I made sure the answers we gave won't give them anything to write about.

Going inside I looked around for Nina, but she was nowhere. I decided to let it be for now and focused on comforting Lillian who surely was beyond distressed.

***************

Hot water cascaded down my body and felt like heaven easing my sore muscles. Uncle Jasper and Dad surely went hard on us.

I must call Enzo and tell him the suits we designed didn't absorb shock as we expected them to. We needed to make a new design with higher standards.

Turning off the water, I took one of the
towels to dry my body and hair. I Wore black jeans and a white shirt keeping my attire casual. I went to my room and smiled at how it was well-kept. Even though I didn't visit the mansion in years, Grandma made sure my room stayed the same as the last time I saw it.

I stopped by Hunter's room and entered it as silently as I could. He was sprawled across the bed with his hair still dump, and the covers a mess around his feet.

I gently untangled them and covered him. He stirred and rolled on his other side. For a moment, I was afraid he would wake up, but he didn't.

I smiled fondly at him and wished things would be okay between us. Maybe the ring and Dad's harshness would bring us closer this time. Maybe our relationship would recover and become like before. Because if it didn't, I was clueless as to what should I do to make it work.
